QUOTE Sony Ericsson showcased an upcoming mobile phone by the concept ‘Idou’, which is going to give us a glimpse of what lies ahead for us, and what Sony Ericsson is currently working on. The ‘Idou’ is one of a number of projects that will be launched this year under the umbrella of Entertainment Unlimited.
The ‘Idou’ is a cameraphone with special focus on media. It will feature a 12.1-megapixel camera with auto focus and an array of advanced camera touch features and a xenon flash. I’m guessing the sensor in this phone will the Sony’s new 1/2.5-inch 12.25 megapixel sensor for mobile phones. That would be awesome! The Media menu will now be fully optimized for the 3.5-inch 16:9 widescreen touch screen, and will enable you to tap directly into your favourite movies, TV-series, video clips and tracks.
The phone will be based on what will become the Symbian Foundation operating system, which means that thousands of applications will be available online. PlayNow will be pre-installed, and will allow you to personalize the phone.
The ‘Idou’ will be available during the second half of 2009 - naturally marketed by a different product name. This post has been edited by Izzat.G: Oct 8 2009, 02:34 AM

Symbian is open source already. Read the news. All shares in Symbian bought by Nokia in June 2008 and let it become open source, called Symbian Foundation. So now, Symbian technically doesnt belong to anyone.
This phone will probably be my next target. Symbian, high def screen, EXMOR sensor. A win, period.

Symbian is nokia trademark without it any phone is a competitor Although Nokia is the owner of Symbian Ltd, but many of the handphone manufacturer have joined symbian foundation, including SE, Samsung, Motorola etc. Further more, Symbian OS is open source software. reference: http://www.symbian.com/japan/news/pr/2008/pr200811006.htmlhttp://news.cnet.com/8301-13505_3-9975902-16.html Added on February 16, 2009, 10:20 amQUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Feb 16 2009, 08:22 AM) Only thing many Phone Provider cant beat nokia is because of symbian if symbian is taken over there goes Nokia trademark Symbian Ltd. is a trademark of Nokia, but symbian OS is not. its an open sourse software. Symbian OS is not used by Nokia only. SE have created their own symbian Os named as UIQ long ago, while Symbian S60 is the OS used by nokia. they r all based on symbian. now, after joining the Symbian foundation, the member will use the same symbian OS. The reason i mentioned "read the news" is because that the source of my information. And you should know not only Nokia make Symbian phone. Samsung probably has dozen of it, maybe half.
