QUOTE(periwater @ Aug 25 2011, 09:44 PM) How long it takes for you to DIY? Manpower: My husband and I Yes, possible but massive work need to be done n take long time, first stage cabut all lalang first, then loose the soil by turning them massively and let it dry under sun for 1 week to dry the root of the lalang. after all will be great to have a rain to flatten the soil. this stage took about 3 weeks before u can proceed carpet grassLook at my garden, during renovation (no weeds) and current state (lalang is about 2-3 feet tall). Still got hope for DYI? |

QUOTE(periwater @ Aug 25 2011, 10:10 PM) Wow.. didn't know it will takes a month! When I asked Lot 16 to quote me, they just mentioned the work to be done from clearing, treatment, delivering, then payment! I personally strongly refuse to use chemical treatment as not environmental friendly (although they claimed safe to be used). Love earth The earlier thread mentioned about using chemical weed killer to kill the weed, however read in the link you provided earlier, that it's not recommended unless the professional do it. What is your take? |

QUOTE(SYL17 @ Nov 15 2011, 08:59 PM) get pearl grass, it will not grow long like my phil grass, very irritating. Another disadvantage of pearl grass is that, many insects especially cockroach easily and like to hide on the grass... argh... I hate this the mostbut pearl grass has a disadvantage, if u did not water, it will die faster than phil grass. |

QUOTE(wz3k @ Feb 10 2012, 02:32 PM) Hi all, Just let your grass grow itself, they will fill the gap by time, for the first week after lay down the grass, the fella told me have to siram 3 times per day so that they can full grow and the akar will ikat on the soil. Btw, from your photp, your contract didnt lay a layer of sand above the soild before laydown the grass? My newly planted (2 weeks) philipine grass also have some gaps. My contractor planted the grass very closely last time. I'm also seeing that some parts of the grass+root are sticking out of the soil. Im guessing this is because some loose soil has been washed away by rain. Should I patch the gaps with new grass? The part where the grass and roots are sticking out, I'm thinking I need to put either new soil or sand.. which is better? [attachmentid=2677781] |

QUOTE(manemaren @ May 6 2012, 11:43 PM) adding 2-3 inches of river sand on top of the existing soil will avoid the mud issue in your garden, I m supposed the fencing there should have a drainage for excessive water rite? Usually developer will have such design in which the excessive water will go to drain |
