hi sifus

i have this garden

green = plan for grass either japan / pearl grass
yellow = plan for sunflowers
pink = misc small colorful flowers

my question should i do divider (concrete) to separate the 3 boxes? my concern is lateron i hv to replace the plants in yellow / pink box, my grass will be affected as i need to dig and replace very often.

secondly if i dont do divider, will it grow lalang? as when plants in yellow and pink box blossom, birds will come and dropping etc will bring lalang, unwanted weeds, etc

No need to do divider. Your yellow and pink area should not have grass, just soil and cover with the coconut sleeves underneath your flowers. If you want a nice border between grass and flower, you can put some pebble in between them. After your grass grow strong, you can use a knife to cut a straight line between your green & pink and yellow & green.

You can make divider and hide away from sight and remove whenever necessary in future.

Using tiles, wall tile is thinner and easier to cut. Use a glass cutter cut 3 to 4 inches wide (as depth) many pieces and plant into the line where you want to divide. With the tiles 3-4 inches underground, the grass root will not able to spread underground to the other side. The tile is buried underground and just a little (few mm) of its top expose above ground. As the grass grow you can pull up a bit so that the top grass will not cross to the other side too.

Guys, I'm planning to plant Philippine grass for my small garden, my contractor is telling me to put sand and make it compact before laying the glass instead of soil. Just want to confirm, is this the correct way?
*
strange...usually they hv to spray chemical (to make lalang all die), then mix sand and soil and put them rata rata...then only put the carpet on it....

if not, future lalang will all come out....u will be surprise how all these lalang will auto come out every single hole....especially in early stage when your carpet is not compact yet...

Recently I see a lot of weed-looking grass growing on my japanese grass, can someone tell me whether those are grown from Japanese grass or from other type of grass that I should remove?

If need to remove those grass, what can I do to remove them?
