I asked this question in the tailoring thread, but no respond. Hopefully someone here can here.

This is about boutonniere for groom's suit. I had a suit custom made, but the button hole on the lapel was not open. Is it advisable to open it to put the boutonniere or follow typical Malaysian groom style to put the boutonniere on the chest pocket in place of pocket square?
