I'm using the silicon tips that came with it..And I still didn't like it...hahhaa
I like bassy sounds..
*
Sony with silicon buds makes 'em bassy. Or it is just Sony? laugh.gif

Silicon tips really make it very flat..
Soundmagic PL 11?
*
Do double flange tips make the bass more tighten and not so boomy?

I think the PL20 is for people who prefer good clarity and treble. As CLF had pointed out before and I experienced it myself, the bass for PL20 is not disappointing at all. And it’ll improve with burn-in.

Probably the amount of bass in PL20 will not be enough for those who prefers more bass in their music. But as for me, it is already sufficient even when playing bass music.

I prefer Bijou4's clarity than PL20's, and bass-wise I prefer Bijou4's.

Is Bijou 4 bass better than PL20 in your opinion?

As long as you don't share your IEM with anyone else and clean it from time to time, i think there's nothing to be worried about.

QUOTE(btfan @ Jun 4 2009, 01:08 AM)
Quite a tough choice since i have never try any of it. Would one would be the most comfortable? I suppose for portability it would be PL-20 since it's "cucuk dalam telinga" but would such types have a higher chance of risking an ear infection? sweat.gif

Even CrossRoads Quattro is considered an entry level IEM.

Since you've Fiio E5, I think weak bass won't be a prob anymore. The E5 boosts up the bass a lot, at least for the Klipsch Custom-3.
*
That goes for SoundMagic PL20 as well. I always pair it with E5.

Hmm, I'm thinking of getting a headphone for musics and movies, I saw these 2 headphone AKG701 and Bose QC3, which one better eh? or any other gd recommendation for headphone below 1k?
*
Which makes me think, is there any headphones that is especially for movies?

Or there is no such thing whatsoever 'coz sound is sound regardless of the source either music or movies?

Haha, may be you're right, I should put it this way. A headphone that has warm and bassy sound, coz I'll be using it to watch movies thus a headphone with bright sound would be uncomfortable for long hour of usage.
*
Haha. It’s not that I’m criticizing the way you asked earlier, it’s just that it made me wonder. laugh.gif

Btw, what headphones that have bright sound? So maybe that I can avoid them as I also like to use headphones when watching movies.

Hmm wood is good they say. But is it in the range of RM100-RM200?

Seems very unlikely.

Nope, the price is RM400++  biggrin.gif if you googled it, you'll notice that this fx500 is the JVC HA-FX1000 in disguise which costs 1k++ xD
*
That kinda defeat the purpose of a 'budget' thread doesn't it?

guys. needed opinions from u guys. I am in need of a sub-rm300 IEM that gives SUPERBASS that could hammer my head, but of course not too flooded vocals and sound quality on the brighter side.

any suggestions?
*
CrossRoads MylarOne Quattro wouldn't be a bad choice if the budget is not more than RM300.

You definitely won't be disappointed with the bass as it has 3 selectable bass ports. From port #1 (most bass) to port#3 (less bass).

If you like bass, the JBL Reference 220 is kinda gd, do urself a favour and look up this IEM, reviews aren't bad.
*
At a lower price than JBL Reference 220 i think CrossRoads Woody One/Two is also a good choice for those who prefer warm (bassy) sound signature.

Well i get the feeling that when it reaches here it'll be more than RM500. haha

Btw, are you thru with CrossRoads? What do you think of them Woody?

I feel like i might try them one day. lol

i googled around. i see reviews of JBL 220 with perfect fit/seal issue of their earbuds while it is very important to feel the bass by getting a perfect fit.
*
Sounds pretty much the same with SoundMagic PL20. Not easy to get a good seal with that one imo.

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jun 21 2009, 03:18 PM)
Yea, no matter what IEMs you're using, a good seal is the utmost important thingy.
*
True. I find that some iems you really have to work at it in order to get a good seal. Others may come quite naturally.

The JBL Reference 220 didn't gv me much trouble putting it on coz it's worn with the normal style, the Sennheiser IE8 is the one that you'll find hardest to get a gd seal, Sometimes when you're able to get a perfect seal, try to look at a mirror and you'll find that you're wearing it in a very awkward way xD
*
For my PL20 i usually use the mid-size eartips. But everytime i put it into my ears, i always feel like the right-side didn't give as good of a seal as the left-side.

And no matter how much i try to twist and turn it, i still feel the same. Then i would just give up and leave it as it is and it feels really awkward.

However i don't have any such problem with my other iems tho.
