Try to request for an exchange if that happens. Swap the sleeve from right to left and see if its the sleeve causing problems or just the IEM's tip causing the problem. I believe the seller will allow an exchange if the IEM's causing the problem. smile.gif Do remember as IEMs extend into the ears, even the tiniest out-of-range built, if not detected during QC will already cause discomfort while wearing it.
*
Thanks for the advise. smile.gif

Another thing that i notice regarding the problem with my PL20 is that when i used sleeves from a different iem (i.e Sony), the problem seem to be gone and i feel no discomfort.

Even so, is the possibility of the iem built being out-of-range could still be present?

Try swapping the positions of the sleeves to see if the sleeves are giving problems or the IEM itself is giving problems first. smile.gif Still abit vague to conclude right here.

Well, if other sleeves *might* have provided better seal/sound quality without the problem, maybe thats a calling from God so that you'll change your stock sleeves to other sleeves! biggrin.gif
*
Oh sry, forgot to mention it earlier. i did try swapping the positions of the sleeves and the problem still occurs. The right-side still feels weird. So i dismiss the thought of problematic sleeves.

You're probably right. Maybe it's just a way of God telling me to go custom. lol

Meh, went to Moderno today because i needed new headphones.

Anyways i was considering either the Plantronic 376 (RM195) or the Steelseries 4H (RM199). Which one would be better in terms of sound quality?

Also, are there are other recommends for headphones of that price range?
*
Both of them are gaming headsets right? So i'm not really sure about the sound quality.

But if you really care about sound quality that much, i suggest you go for Audio Technica ATH-M30.

It has good reviews and considered to be;

Well they say HD 555 is an all-rounder kinda headphone, suitable for most types of music and can sound good without amp.

While you need an amp for the AD700 to fully shine. Same goes with SR80.

Soundmagic PL11, JBL reference 220 or any other suggestions?
*
erm..Sony? lol i know Sony is kinda unpopular here. =P

I have this MDR-EX35LP (around RM70~RM80 i think) which i find the isolation and comfort is pretty good. Clarity is so-so much but bassheads won't be disappointed with the bass-level, tho it can be a little bit muddy at times.

I never tried EP630 before so dunno how they compare.

but for some other earphone no so good with sony [bass] like no so natural
*
In general, that's probably true.

But i've compared Sony with iPod regarding bass using SoundMAGIC PL20 which is bass-light, and find that the bass presentation on the Sony is better than the iPod.

If i have an amp, how would each of them be different from each other?
*
All in all, both AD700 and SR80 are better than HD 555.

The AD700 sounds light and airy with wide soundstage, while SR80 has better bass but narrower soundstage. So with an amp, AD700 would sound more balanced and all-round, pretty much makes it a safer bet.

D2 perhaps if tight on budget. Try look around garage sales if there's anyone selling (if you prefer 2nd hand, can get around RM400+).

USD 40 is not very cheap ady, almost RM140++ if including those postage and handling fees... The SF3 is said to be bass shy, out of 10 reviews I read, it's like 7-8 of them are negative one  tongue.gif
*
lol it's that bad huh?

but for a rebranded super.fi 3, if one is willing to try, i don't see why not. lol =D

It's also very hard to get a good seal with PL30. That's probably the reason it's not that comfortable. It's interrelated these things. lol

Owh, really? Then does 830 better than pl-30? I mean in comfort issue.
*
Yea really. The EP830 design is more conventional, making it easier to get a better seal thus gives better comfort.

Does the 830 and PL-30 have the same SQ to be compared?
*
We were discussing the design and comparing the comfort (and seal issue) which imo EP830 > PL30.

But sound-wise, EP830 simply cannot beat PL30 which has a totally different signature with more mid-range, much wider soundstage and a lot better detail.

DT231 or M30? for any types of music. thanks smile.gif
*
i thought you wanted something cheaper? lol

Both are good with almost any type of music. The only difference being the M30 is more neutral (balanced) sounding while DT231 sounds warmer (a bit emphasized on bass).
