The D90 has video. That's really all the justification you could need.

Of course, there is that rolling shutter, which is really annoying, but if you don't see it, good for you! It bothers me when I see people walking in a D90 video and they look like flickering holograms! This is not in the dark - it happens in bright daylight too!

Rolling shutter happens because every frame is not exposed all at the same time, but scanned from top to bottom. So if you move fast from left to right within the one frame, you will be distorted diagonally.

The Canon 5D MkII has better video with an external audio jack. But it still has the rolling shutter. The D90 is manual focus only in video.

So should you jump now, or wait for Sony's new models to come out, and see how they do video? The A700 and A200 are due for replacement as both are nearly 18 months old.

When the A700 and A200 came out, those did not have Live View, while the earlier D300 and 40D had Live View. Sony came back with the A300/A350 and its autofocus in Live View is a lot faster than any other camera using Contrast Detect AF, even the D90. So if you HAVE TO HAVE video NOW, go ahead...

Sony announced a new Exmor-R backlit sensor, which would be a lot cleaner at high ISO. So again, best to wait.

if have entry level DSLR with video, i also will jump regardless what ever brand. looking at LX3 720HP, wkkay upload fire work show at SGpore video, kinda impressive

snap it daytime, but using small aperture to get dark background.

i had my F58 connector plate crack (still able to use but vary loose) duo to the heavy usage during my Cambodia trip. (shaking a lot i think)

sony service center replace a new one (the connector plate)  for me FOC (under warranty) with no question ask in just 3 working days.

Not really, Sony's VG is more expensive compared to Canon 

7 working days is their std reply...they also told me that but after 3 working days i receive a SMS saying my unit is ready for collect.

not every Sony accessories is cheapest...it depend e.g.

sony flash F58 (RM1100) is the cheapest compare to C (580EX RM15xx) and N (sb900 RM16xx)
sony travel lens SAL18250 (RM16xx) and SAL18200 (RM 14xx) is the cheapest too compare to C 18-200 (RM2xxx) and N 18-200  (RM23xx)

and those C user claim that we cannot use the Leica Quality Beercan 70-210 F4 to compare to their 70-200mm f/4L but they always said their very plastic 50mm f/1.8 is very very cheap...which sony haven release yet (event the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 also dif from that)

they should compare again 50mm f/1.4 both sony and C....where the sony is RM11xx and the C is RM12xx if not mistaken

and the sony 70-200 f/2.8 G now have a very competitive price RM6k +- (after sony decide to reduce the price since last year OCT)

beside the example that showing Sony is cheaper...there is other Sony lens and accessories is more expensive too like the VG, 24-70 cz (slightly more expensive then the C but cheaper then the N) and other cz lens as well
another bad point for sony is we have less choice on the lens selection then the C and N as Sony only in the market for about 4 years and being active since end of 2007 ...need some time for them to release more lens either new or reband the minolta.
