QUOTE(mineSweeper @ Jul 23 2006, 06:47 PM) im using rivatuner and i overclock till b4 the warning icon appear. is it safe/good to push it higher? u can set it at warning icon safely, it just way too high from RivaTuner's POV i think...as long as ur card is cool, no worry QUOTE(ayu @ Jul 25 2006, 04:42 PM) Hi, im using the sapphire x600 pro 256mb pci-e , Can i know does this card can set the pipe to 8 pipe? My current pipe is 4 only..and i dunno also what for this ..just hear some body say can setting to high mhz. My graphid tools does not have the function can set the 4pipe to 8 pipe. that's mean u went to extreme overclocking/modding ler...requires voltmodding n etc... btw...overclocking NVIDIA GPU is easy (7300GT user here ) using CoolBit, increase about 5MHz increment both GPU n Mem Clock, n each time run benchmark tools like 3DMark03/05/06 until graphical anomalies appeared - sign of instability... ikanayam's guide provide good guide what...for basic knowledge

QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Nov 24 2006, 10:47 AM) is there any other way to OC GC in bios instead of Windows...? cuz OC in Windows success rate is kinda low... if you think that way, i think most probably many of us experience with VGA problem due to excessive clock sustainly i agreeed with Mr. Soulfly, yes, we can edit the VGA BIOS (using NiBiTor) and flashed the edit one, but it's like same to Factory overclocked version of XFX already -- sooner or later, there will be problem with your VGA card...

QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Nov 24 2006, 06:33 PM) then the XFX got any problem...? I wish VGA got menu like mobo la... and got boot failure guard or built in self test utility like OEM boards... ...lets hope so...anyway, some of VGA manufacturer features with Dual BIOS which is useful as a backup BIOS in case there's a trouble while flashing to a new BIOS

QUOTE(jy14 @ Nov 25 2006, 02:38 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wow, this is interesting. I got a few questions to ask all xpertx here. Thanks in advance for all advice or answer given. 1. I was using 7300GT and when i try to use the original nvidia software to OC, it says 1st that I'll break somekind of warranty thing. Does it mean that after i say yes to OC, the GC will store the data somewhere in the card and then when anything happen I send for RMA the supplier will know ? 2. Can an OC-ed GC at a stable clock-speed and mem-speed plays games ? I mean like after i've OC it, then I play game for mayb 2 hours to see it's effect, can ah ? can use longer with it ? Mine already fitted the Zalman cooler. 3. I heard something that you guys were mentioning about flashing to open-up more pipeline ? Is it like the MSI's 7900 GTO which is said that can be flashed and made into a GTX ? I hope it wouldn't be too hassle for all of you to provide some answer. 1: original nVIDIA software you meant is Coolbit, yes, for sure it'll break its warranty, but no, your GC as well as other GX won't store that information 2: it depends, you said you are using 7300GT, so, 7300GT's stock is 500/700(1400), say you overclocked at 550/850(1700), you played several hours of gaming and seems stable without any unstable issues (artifacts, graphical anomalies or watsoever) -- so consider your card can run that clock, my advice give it more, try hit 600/900(1800) and see if your card can work at that speed or not... 3: yes, flashing new BIOS, but i think it won't work on 7300GT

QUOTE(mars @ Nov 26 2006, 11:12 AM) Yes, i do have cool bits and rivatuner installed but i can't increase my clock . stock is 500/1000 and both frequency can't be increase. How to solved this? Or is it hardware locked or sumthin? or driver problem? i'm afraid you're using older RivaTuner, did you download latest RivaTuner RC16.1 from Guru3D.com? and you have to enabled (tick in the box) to use the overclocking tools by using coolbits also, you should be no problem in using it, at nVIDIA properties, should be a Overclocking page. click on it, (if you're first time), there'll be a warning windows -- stated you are agreed bla...bla..) click yes and voila..happy overclocking

well i think i remember this because once happened to me...but it solved after i did something to my card -- i meant physically, i vMOD it... but i suspect, it could be the driver, what driver version you're using?

QUOTE(PVCpipe @ Dec 8 2006, 10:36 PM) if i use omega driver... do i need to uninstall ati catalyst.... AFAIK, and you should know too, when applying new driver, previous driver must be uninstalled... QUOTE(amerz @ Dec 9 2006, 02:23 AM) Hi..i'm a noob also.. I just bought Galaxy-7300GT-128DDR3 and currently using DHzeroPoint driver and at last i can play Oblivion..hoh! I also have try rivetuner, but i think it's for more advance user that actually know what are they doing.. my question is, What is the best oc for my GC?..i want to maximise it's capability How do i know my oc on the gc is already maximise what do you mean "best OC for my GC?"... , anyway, you can try with your core clock first, try by small increment and run 3D intensive game/apps...for instance, you can try 3DMark series. if you do not see any weird/odd graphic, increase the core clock again with small increment too until you run 3DMark with odd/weird graphical...from there you know your VGA hit the ceiling already...

QUOTE(jy14 @ Dec 9 2006, 12:08 PM) did u install the .reg file to allow u to OC ? It supposed to be inside the Installation CD. I remember when I changed a new HDD, i forgot to double click the .reg file which will allow me to OC. that thing you meant is nVIDIA's CoolBit, it's nVIDIA's hidden feature, so have to edit registry in order to enable those OCing thing in nVIDIA's Control Panel, wait...AFAIK, when on new control panel, the OCing menu has been enabled though... QUOTE(jy14 @ Dec 9 2006, 12:10 PM) Can you describe how to see the 'weird/odd graphics' ? weird/odd means... this is weird/odd graphic... Odd graphicelse...some graphic will be rendered like huge beam will coming out from nowhere...really irittating thou

QUOTE(mars @ Dec 20 2006, 09:23 AM) Hi, i'm not mentioning the Motherboard BIOS but the graphic card BIOS itself. because they are separately different hardware rite. Maybe my geforce 6600gt bios is locked thats why cannot overclock? not sure though.............. yeah i know what you meant, but seriously, even BIOS locked we can always overclock our VGA to the max though...i still don't get what you meant BIOS locked, can't overclock...because the rest of us (unlike yours) using nVIDIA's CoolBit, RivaTuner RC16.2, ATiTrayTools and other software to overclock (CoolBit it's not a software though).

well it's because you're using gDDR2 instead gDDR3, do note, in nVIDIA's control panel, the software will read as 400MHz (you have to multiply by 2) means 800MHz -- latest driver fixed this by multiplied it. same goes to gDDR3. QUOTE IS THE MEMORY CLOCK OK? HOW COME I SEE A LOT OF LIKE 400/800 or 5xx/14xx ELSEWHERE, BUT MINE IS BOTH THE SAME FOR THE CORE CLOCK AND THE MEMORY CLOCK??? no need in CAPS ok you don't have to worry that, it's just a software error reading, yours running on 800MHz, those 14xx is on effective speed @1.4GHz (700MHz). QUOTE Can i overclock it further? The effects is just higher temperature if over clock, right? yes, of course you can go further if you there, but since you're using gDDR2, overclocking margin is limited, thanks...but no thanks to gDDR2

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jan 9 2007, 12:44 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Here i am, in the right topic... Ok, goldfries, as what we've been discussing before about the nvidia control panel, it seems like the driver i've downloaded didn't allow me to overclock, it's different from what u've posted in the Pinned: "Fundamentals of Overclocking" This is what i got: [attachmentid=178093] It's like so different with what i've experienced when i'm using 7600GT... In the older days when i'm using 7600GT, there is a tab for "clock frequency settings" just like what u've posted in the "Fundamentals of Overclocking" thread... Why does my nvidia control panel doesn't allow that? Is it because i'm using a different Nvidia driver then yours? I'm using Forceware 93.71... What's yours? Help Me... , that's because by default, nVIDIA's driver hid the Overclocking tab, anyway, you can always enable the hidden feature using registry key available at Guru3D.com or PM me for that file

actually, you're asking in wrong sub-forum, this is VGA overclocking section anyway...yes you can either use JEDEC specs as shown in CPU-Z or just leave it auto-set by BIOS...

QUOTE(nazerry @ Feb 15 2007, 06:36 AM) im using atitools. the probs is my gc temps becomes very hot when i try to find my max core. so i abort it halfway. is it ok to run this till end? im using ati radeon x600. or can u tell me this card's max core & mem w/o having to run this test? plus i still cant find out how i can get my gc temp. i googled but still cant find out how.. ati catalyst is not showing the temp. well that's because your GC trying to look for maximum clock it can go, that's why it's hot -- full load temp i must say...

QUOTE(nazerry @ Feb 15 2007, 01:40 PM) still, isit ok? ran the test about 3hours. won't i burn anything there? got anyway i can check its temp? FYI, ATI Tools is trying to find as highest clock as possible, of course with 100% stability (no artifacts) -- artifacts means overheated GPU or Memory, get the idea? for Temperature reading, i've no idea, but you can try RivaTuner FR 2.0, i havent test on ATi cards though...so not sure if compatible or not...
