Hi , i am building my water cooling system for the 1st time. Will this be enough?

Looking to wc only the CPU and GPU:
1)core i7 920, with asus rampage 2 extreme, hoping to oc to 4.0 ghz
2)GTX 285 SLI
3) Ambient temp: 27-33'c

I am pretty new to water cooling and for my 1st attempt, i am looking for a single loop set up. Koolance seems to have a user friendly "product selection wizard" to help me get what i need.

1)reservoir - pump - cpu - gpu - gpu- radiator- reservoir. Is this a good set up?

2)will the koolance pmp450 pump ( aka mcp655, D5) be enough for this loop? i think it has a head pressure of 4m.

3)Due to my chasis, i could only put in a dual 120mm radiator, hoping to get the faser 240mm for this. Will a double radiator be enough for core i7 , oc to 4.0 ghz and 285 gtx SLI ? ( with two 120mm, cfm=116 fans)

4)which cpu block is best for core i7 ? I heard Apogee GTZ is really good... how about koolance 350? Koolance seems to be coming back ( they didnt do too well earlier) recently, based on 2-3 reviews in xtremesystem.com, the koolance 350 block for LGA 1366 cpu is doing pretty well, beating the apogee GTZ. But, could i really trust these reviews by forum users? Any suggestion?

Thx in advance smile.gif

ok bro...
lemme share with u my experience...
currently running same setup as u @ 4.2Ghz

ok...
i m also using a single loop setup...
going to add a sb/nb block soon...
but no gpu block...since i dun oc my gc....

i'd say if u plan to go 4ghz + 2 gpus...get a 3xrad or 4xrad...
2x can barely handle the heat...

get a powerful pump...for future invesment...
get eheim if u can...
i m using a laing d4...enuff...but not sufficient i think..
i suggest u pm bryanyeo87...
i got all my supplies from him...frenly guy...good support and customer service!

as for cpu block...
ive read that gtz is one hella block...but i m using a danger den mc-tdx...
i m not sure if it's good or not...
but i get 80+ degrees on load...
so shud be fine...
koolance block...never actually considred it...
so yeah i have no comments on it...

if u r going to cool cpu + 2 gpus...
most would recommend a dual loop setup...
else the heat can be really a problem...
unless u r using some super efficient rad...
*cough*feser quad*cough*....
then i think u can make it with 1 loop...

anyway pm bryan koko...
i m sure he can help u solve ur problem...
he is the resident watercooling supplier... brows.gif

@TS,forget about single loop with gc + I7 oced sweat.gif
C2Q 45nm + single GTX280 is barely enough but not idea smile.gif
You would need two loop.pm bryanyeo87 smile.gif

Oh thank you guys for your input, oc4/3 and xandman smile.gif

So i need to do a dual loop set up. Which means i need 2 pumps, 2 reservoir and 2 radiators right? I am using the "hp voodoo blackbird 002" chassis, it's big... but i am not sure i could fit in 2 loops, especially with the radiators.

More home work for me... will do some research and find out if i could put all these in my case. blush.gif

BUY COSMOS BLK LABEL FR ME! haha MOD IT urself! nice aR!

Dont get eheim! It's blardee expensive, get a d5 or dcc3.2 instead.

For koolance just get the CPU 350 block and the GPU block. koolance 350 one of the best cpu block now.

I'm using the same board as u, wanted to wait for the Bits full mb block but it'll be only coming out in US sites end of the month and costs 150USD, so i suggest u to get the ek NB/SB block as i did, it will allow clearance for the 1st black pcie slot for long sound card like x-fi. ^^

u can call me n bryan out to yum cha if u want ^^ SS2. u can find my hp no. in my other post.

dat doesnt really need cooling. the only negative part bout ek block is u need to do some mod to place back the rog light. a thermal pad with a small ramsink will do for the chips below the dram. no coolings is needed for the dram. ^^

cstkl1, i heard EK block is quite good for the cpu even though it is pretty restrictive.... are they not good for NB/SB? when i oc my 920, hehe, expect tons of question from me, so i say thank u and sorry in advance. tongue.gif

wtf. have u ever take off the whole thing and look inside. Tell me then what cooling does it have on stock. it's jus a thermal pad that is sticked on the qpi ram. pls don act smart here and giving advice here.

The above link will let u see what's underneath the rog light. U tell me what cooling do the stock qpi ram card have. if as u said without cooling it'll blow then why isnt urs blown out yet.

The chips underneath the qpi power card is the one that needed cooling after taking off the stock heatsink/pipe which u can add a a ram sink on them to cool them. The qpi power card doenst need any cooling. the rog light will act as a small heatsink enough for the card.

So now hav u understand? damn i hate talk cockers.

dumbass i had the review unit before u even knew the mobo existed so please.
unlike noobies everybody replaces their mobo stock thermal paste instead of shit ass thermal pads and overspread thermal paste

haha stupid noobie cause mine is cooled by a crossflow fan

check ure facts infact try clocking ure proc before coming here talking so much crap
already gave u a hint and dumbass doesnt want to believe
sihh noobies think reading from other idiot he will learn.
idiots guiding idiots.

regret asking asus to make the 1104 bios for idiots like u to have the tdp limit disabled.
wasted my time when idiots like this post like this
atleast in xs ppl are grateful this is why i dont like lyn noobies. they get first mobo and know everything.

the qpi card needs to be cooled end of story
test it ureself for higher uncore
infact y not post a 4000mhz uncore

infact gtfo this thread and stop spamming rubbish when u can even clock for crap.

so many noobies also want to buy the gt without knowing shit. then complain here and there.

If you are willing to cut then can fit but i think the case is rather small smile.gif
And for me,i will go for Dtek Fuzion V2 + 1366 pro kit/GTZ.Fraser 3x120mm,nb/qpi v card block biggrin.gif

hey idiot
ure the only one who doesnt understand what uncore is
that means u dont even know crap what qpi voltage is for
and that also means u dont even know muck about how that relates to dram voltage

before u talk
y not go google
look at ure own posting
u made so much assumptions when dont know crap
lets see that proc of ures die when u even have it in the first place
ure must be idiot who bought from CEX right..
lets see. talk to jp about u later.

I also recommend that u get 2 loops... 1 loop is for CPU and the other for ur GCs.... GTZ and Koolance 350 are very good blocks but for Koolance, the price is very expensive.... Unless u can afford it though....

@cstkl1: I thought to get uncore 4000, u need ram speed of 2000... Pls correct me if I'm wrong....

I know it is double but no proc is known to do 4000 uncore atm.... Maybe a few gems but not all.... That's why it's so rare to do so....
