Hey guys.. will not be able to attend this week's Kiara ride.. just now I had an accident while on the way home in hujan lebat.. totally skinned my right knee and some parts of my feet.. skinned a part of my palm too.. as well as a bruised left tit (chest landed too)

Yay! Had an excellent ride with all the forummers who joined in the "little-mudfest".
Thanks to "maxguy (mountain goat)" and "scotty" who took turns to lead (guide) and sweep (behind) us.
Very grateful to have cycling-mates like you guys. All in all, the 2 names mentioned as above took great care of all the cyclists especially the younger cyclists (like me).
On behalf of me and my 2 friends (another young/mountain goat and the young-girl), we'd like to apologize for the slow speed.
Part of our slow speed was caused by not knowing the trail at all and the mud! ().
Hoping to meet you guys there or FRIM (my favorite place) in the future.

yeah. safety very important. etiquette oso important. going down tar road cannot go too fast, if meet traffic sudden brake become superman and face plant. i think my bike is quite heavy la. or i dont have any strength/stamina

sms parents told them edi. they asked if the bike can actually go offroad or not . told them about the crash and the broken brake lever. hoping for more funding later. but fork no disc brake tab, frame oso same. limited choices if wanna upgradeexcept if change whole bike. apollo was ok la. damn sad the last part couldnt go due to the broken lever. but good thing it didnt happen much earlier. only got 1 scratch on shin, but intestines feel funny after the fall. legs and arms feel like jelly. lol.

guys & girls. i just reach back.. so hows my surprise? well feel like i;m getting better wit the trail. now need to look for brakes & XT rd wit shifters. Next week i'll be alone in FRIM.   

The younger kids need to understand that some trails r new to them. we learn frm our experience & we teach the younger 1 from that.

Can't really agree that disc brakes are the way to go.
Disc brakes take the most weight (combined with levers, cables, calipers, brake pads and mineral/hydraulic fluid).

btw i'm using a cheap lerun and it tries to kill me everytime i go to kiara. that and my lack of skills. anyways, for commuting it is decent but a little on the heavy side.
