Truvativ does have that crank coming off problem, but it can be solved by putting on those white tapes around the thread before tightening it smile.gif and im using truvativ blaze. hihi.
*
hmm...mine don't have the coming off problem yet, just that somehow i think my crank is bent in some other way and yes i know crank are usually bent abit to ease changing of plates..

Ya. me using truvativ cranks as well. Stylo crank.
it comes off due to wrong sizing on the BB adaptor.
there is a measurement for the adaptor as our frame bracket BB length is different for different manufacturer.
Solved mine using different adaptor size. No loosen crank now.
*
how much is the Stylo crank??hmm,am now aiming a new crank..><
btw bro where about u ride in melaka??am trying to find a track for me to try out..

I personally think Shimano cranks are great value lo. The anti-shimano-support-sram agenda aside ...theres nothing wrong with the Deore.. it's light, cheap and strong. Over here at least, the GXP Stylo's are like same price at XT's and heavier. Might as well just go with SLX or even Deore's for that matter.
*
am still aiming SLX now but just to see the other options available.. tongue.gif feel that my bike needs my constant hard pedaling to get around 30kph..maybe the fork saps all my energy... sad.gif

cool.....thanks for the news man...will drop by later.....anyway wondering any comments from other owner who still using this alite mtb type? pro or cons? if not, other options?
*
hmm,i just got mine 11 days ago and so far it's doing a good job i can say..there're only 2 stuff that are in concerns..1st is about the crank which it's bent and tbfooksang claimed it's normal while my LBS say it's out of shape more than it suppose to be..2nd is you really need to pedal if u want to pecut, but this can be solved abit by bloating up the tires to 50 psi..anyway,this is overall a good bike la for the money spent..

em, i would like to suggest you NOT to go Fook Sang for starters. Hehe. You'll know why when you are later more into the MTB scene and thank me for that. hehe.

so, I can suggest you to go Batu Caves Sammy though. For cheaper bikes! smile.gif some may not be in stock. and you can order. hehe.

Da bomb XC bikes should be good.

Or you could try 2nd hand man. smile.gif

cheaper at a better parts.
*
and i 2nd this..my crank is turning me off at times... sad.gif

anders: get a new saddle lo, cheaper than buying lots of padded shorts. my sookie saddle is so good i can wear even my thinnest dryfit shorts.
*
thought of that too,but i think a padded shorts is needed first before any mods on bike...cause i need ultimate protection for my balls and butt first..and for saddle, what's the best nice saddle in like 200 bucks??

well... WTB rocket fan here.. just got it to replace my nut crunching saddle..

smile.gif

am using WTB saddle here too,but it's Speed..so are there much difference in terms of comfortability??

QUOTE(dickybird @ Apr 23 2009, 11:13 AM)
WOW 200 BUCKs. my sookie saddle is a velo, and only cost 100. no padded pants is really going to give you ultimate protection in your man bits. padded pants are optional in our hot and humid climate. better to get  knee+ shinguards coz they will be taking the hits most of the time.
*
ok...hmm so i should just save up the bits and finance myself a saddle first..xD
