QUOTE(maxguy @ May 3 2009, 02:44 PM)
really impressed with snapshots consistent climb on steroid hill and helipad (highest peak in frim), he is 1st timer with frim ride though! a big thumbs up to him!
*
I wished I could've cycled with you guys. doh.gif
Maybe next week? brows.gif

QUOTE(M@r0R! @ May 3 2009, 04:40 PM)
are the hills in Frim are tougher to climb than the Kiara's?
*
Yes, if you consider "Steroids Hill".
If you're used to cycling @ "Steroids Hill", you'll get used to it.

QUOTE(Ethwyn @ May 4 2009, 03:41 AM)

*
Start cycling in mountain bike at FRIM.

hmm, but it'll be quite a problem getting there ler... cycle to the spot from pj? drool.gif
*
By the time that you reach FRIM, Kepong from PJ.
You'll be too tired to cycle with me. blush.gif

Hey guys, what tires do you think I should purchase?
The:
Tioga Red Phoenix 2.0
or
Tioga Factory XC 2.1?
Btw, I just purchased a new pair of tires for RM30! whistling.gif
They're Deli XC 2.0 (OEM tire manufacturer for some Polygon bikes) biggrin.gif

heh... so basically not the best choice for me huh... as I don't have a car haha... sad.gif
*
Yeap, not the best choice for you.
It shouldn't even be a choice for you.
Find another method of transportation such as tagging along with someone else that's going to FRIM.
Sorry but I won't be able to pick you up because I'm not even old enough to drive (14 this year tongue.gif).
My neighborhood friend who cycles (like a mountain goat) picks me up cause he lives opposite my house and we cycle together-gether at FRIM. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ May 4 2009, 10:21 AM)
Your crossride's ~1.9kg front and rear
The lightest big big moolah Crossmax SLR is ~1.5kg front and rear.
What's ur bike's weight now?

Added on May 4, 2009, 10:23 am
Nevegals or SB8 depending on condition
*
Bro, I'm serious ler.
Your one of the pro's in recommending products for bikes.
I'm on a *really, really* tight budget.

Off topic sekejap:
What do you guys think about ilink cables/liners? Berbaloi or not if use only for derailers?
Ini benda:
http://www.alligatorcables.com/CABLE/iLINK.htm
I tukar'ed my folding bike punya to jw ripcords and it's quite nice for the brakes.
*
Change the cable covers for all cables (shifter and brakes) of your bike to some really attractive ones. brows.gif
Like "neon-colored-cables".

QUOTE(achcmy @ May 4 2009, 02:28 PM)
Hi there, can you please tell me where did you get the Bolle glasses from? I need something like that for protection. Is it really RM31?
Thanks

Yes, it's really RM31.

pictures? everyone was panicking when I crashed. no one took picture.
take tioga factory xc.
*
May I know why to take the Tioga Factory XC?

QUOTE(latias93 @ May 4 2009, 02:56 PM)
Get the Red Phoenix! Ex-user here, it was on my Giant. Lasted me 3 years until I decided that after 1 month of skidding mania with schoolmates, it started to look like Maxxis Hookworms. Then switched to Specialized Pro tyres.. if I were to voice out on overall performance it'd be Nevegals.. the SB8 rolls dayumm fast on hard packed ground and asphalt.. these are on the Santa Kurus Superlight
Ober, I pon kena bende cilaka same ngan ko...
but it was from football lol.. was daydreaming (I was the goalie) and someone blasted the ball at my torso. I though it was crushed lol.. feel like dying cos I was breathing like the ppl on their deathbed (like the movies!).
*
You and "ober", posted conflicting posts.
I'm confused, should I buy the Tioga Factory XC or the Tioga Red Phoenix?
Both of them are very cheap (RM40 per piece for Tioga Red Phoenix 2.0 tongue.gif)
So which one has better grip on dry conditions (won't be used on tarmac at all! sweat.gif), mild downhilling and a lot of tight cornering.
Btw, what's "SB8" mean?

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ May 4 2009, 03:19 PM)
Kenda Small Block Eight (SB8) --> quick tires but mud/grass/cow poo will stick to it and won't come out so it gets slippery in wet
*
Don't like those tires at all.
"maxguy" was using those tires and they're very dangerous in wet conditions.

QUOTE(scotty @ May 4 2009, 03:21 PM)

Tioga Factory xc has very excellent tire thread. Proven. I've used it when I used to XC. Soaking wet terrain have no fear!
yay! now can hear all those jokes again.
*
Any idea of the price of each Tioga Factory XC and Tioga Red Phoenix?

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ May 4 2009, 05:40 PM)
