Great game for neutrals, but very unconvincing. Hope the team can build on this win and take the next weekend off to refresh!

Before you guys pounce on Babel's sitter... don't forget also that a certain goalscoring legend called Thierry Henry also missed a couple of easy chances during his early days at Arsenal...

Voronin reveals Liverpool call

Loaned out Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has revealed his agent has been contacted about the possibility of an Anfield recall.

The Ukrainian was farmed out due to Robbie Keane's arrival but with him now back at Spurs, Reds boss Rafa Benitez has been left short in attack.

Voronin said: "I know my agent has been talking to Liverpool recently.

"There have been no talks between me, my agent and Dieter Hoeness, yet. We want to have talks with Berlin quickly.

"I still have a contract at Anfield. They've just sold Robbie Keane. Up until he joined last summer, I was getting games for Liverpool.

"They have a shortage of strikers now. I would enjoy staying at Hertha. And even if I am not to stay on, I will give my very best until the very end."

Here's a nice article about title-winning teams, and what it takes to be one.

i understand the rivalry between the two clubs, and although i dislike man utd fans (not the team, really, just the fans), i think i'm not really an anti-man utd supporter like many others. if man utd play well and win, i'd have no problems congratulating them.
Hahaha we're on the same boat! Man U have been playing some breathtaking football over the years, and as a fan of the game you can help but admire what they've managed to accomplish both on and off the field.

Well that's the problem with these sort of useless arguments all over the Internet. Same as politics and religion - you don't have to be an expert to have an opinion - hence everybody has something to say and think that they are right!

Here's my 2-cents on Babel's "selfish" play... he's playing to the boss's instructions to keep the ball and try to beat a man. Because the boy has a lot of pace and if gets pass just one defender, he'll have the space to put in a cross or launch a shot. Just that it hasn't worked out well so far!

Opinion: Babel could have a big say in crucial run-in

I think the fans who call for Benitez's head don't quite understand that the job of the manager isn't just the tactical bits on the pitch. It encompasses 5-10-20 year plans for the club across the whole structure, from youth development to backup squads to buying & selling players to commercialization and all. And like the article says, if the manager is removed, then all the plans will go to waste and the club will start all over again, from scratch!

Remember the kavadi bearers that bore the emblem of Liverpool and ManU during Thaipusam? Apparently some parties are not too happy about it :-)

To keep the discussions moving, since it's a quiet FA Cup weekend for us and with a chronic lack in depth of a quality striker... what do you guys think of Santa Cruz? He's pretty much proven himself, and has even scored against us.

Looks like the Ukrainian, currently hitting it big in Germany, may not come back to Anfield after all.

Hey guys, some of you guys may follow the Kop Blog, in my personal opinion one of the most informative, wittiest and funniest Liverpool blogs out there. Last year they won Best Football Blog by the Football Fanzine Awards. Let's put our vote for them this year's too! YNWA!

I felt that we'd been rather unlucky on a few occasions... clear cut chances in front of goal which we should've scored. Benayoun's came to mind.

But then again... you make your own luck. ManU has been doing that 10 games in a trot. If we lose the title, it's because we're simply not good enough.

I'd been wondering about Lucas for a long time too, but last night was one of his better performances. Made a couple of really good long passes, and held the defensive midfield area well.
