Benitez: Fernando, you are starting today.
Torres: No, sir. Sub me in on the 80th.
Benitez: But why?!?!
Torres: Trust me, 10 minutes is all I need to win it for you.

Rafa, please release Ryan Babel on a free. Seeing him play disgusts me.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Feb 23 2009, 12:58 AM) Same here...He is too selfish...Anyway, Kuyt and El Zhar play very well. Seriously, I wouldn't mind if the club releases him on a free, pay some compensation and get him to f*ck off to some Saudi league.

A poem I wrote in dedication to Ryan Babel:
Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; You ran, you tripped and you fell; Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; Rafa should have sent you straight to hell.
Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; You are making us scream and yell; Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; You're shit and we should just sell, sell, sell.
Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; You're useless the world can tell; Oh Ryan Babel, oh Ryan Babel; Please do Liverpool a favour and go to hell!

Out of disappointment and anger, here are 2 pieces of poem I wrote spontaneously.
Another game, another draw; The entire team is one big flaw; This time even the Kop end's roar; Could not conceal another 1-1 bore.
Another game, more points dropped; The whole team is just one big flop; Bellamy scored with a lucky lob; And Babel came in to have us robbed.
Another game, out goes the title; We can wave goodbye to our red rival; Everything is just a downward spiral; We definitely need more than a miracle.Let me know if you guys need some more poetry to cheer up our spirits. At least give me a title to work with p/s: do not take my poems seriously, I'm still pretty optimistic This post has been edited by blinky: Feb 23 2009, 01:48 AM

Funny. We have more Spanish players on the field compared to the Spanish champions.

I think we should not get too carried away from yesterday's game. It was only the first leg of the first knockout round. The journey is still long and our destination is still far ahead.
I'm more concerned about our Premier League games. I'd rather lose 9-0 to Real Madrid in the second leg if that's what it takes for us to capture the Premier League crown.
It's not like we played flawless football last night. Gut feeling tells me that Fernando Torres is frustrated. He could be frustrated at his fitness, the lack of support from the team, his form or whatever reasons. But I could tell from his expressions and his awful passing last night that he is frustrated, and that is not a good sign from one of the two best players in our team.
My Man of the Match has to be Yossi Benayoun with Martin Skrtel coming in close at second. If Yossi were 18, I'd be tipping him to be one of the world class players to come. I've watched him play since his West Ham days and he reminds me so much of Zidane, albeit Yossi is more underrated and under-commercialised. His close control, vision, dribbling and the off-the-ball ability is just a joy to watch. Plus, I can vouch that he is one of the most consistent Liverpool player for the past 2 seasons. He's the kind of player that you'd feel confident watching him hold the ball.
Skrtel was great as well. He totally kept Raul off his game, as to how Pepe kept Torres off the scoring sheet. Skrtel outshone Carragher last night and I'd say that's a refreshing scene for once.
Overall, we did okay. I think we held enough nerves in the Santiago Benabeu to scrape a victory. In a totally unrelated note, it's funny seeing a team from England has 5 Spanish players on the pitch whereas the Spanish champions only had 3.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Mar 14 2009, 09:40 PM) Ferdinand too, no?Torres made a good turn and he couldnt do a thingĀ I don't care about Ferdinand because he IS crap all these while. I'm more intrigued by the ManC supporters who claim that their Vidic is the best in the world. They forgot Torres has yet to play against him this season, and tonight is the first. Look what happened. BEST DEFENDER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Torres kaki separuh tempang pun boleh bantai tu budak. This post has been edited by blinky: Mar 14 2009, 09:43 PM

Honestly, I'll be fine even IF we do lose.
Seeing how Torres made a total mockery out of Vidic so many times made up for it.
