I see that many shops/people providing upgrade and downgrade services to PSP users. I can understand the reason why they upgrade firmware, but why do they downgrade too?

Upgrade firmware should be getting new stuff, bug fixed and so on?

Then why do they downgrade?

because some of them are using a custom firmware ( unofficial firmware ) , which can caused brick for their PSP , so they downgrade it..but for the official firmware , that should be no probs , just upgrade it to the latest firmware..

1)What does it mean by caused brick to their PSP?

2) Does official firmware means NON-Modded PSP?
