maybe rm5 charge while you're browsing their theme library (500kb page loaded).. and another rm5 data charges for downloading it (~500kb perhaps)

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 25 2008, 12:37 AM)
this 3G like con ppl one haih so expensive then if u take the so called unlimited they limit the bandwidth to 5gb or 7gb something

Maxis Broadband - limit 3gb/month
Maxis Mobile Internet - no limit (if im not mistaken)

QUOTE(FamousLastWords @ Nov 25 2008, 12:59 AM)

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 25 2008, 08:52 AM)
what the different. Its da same my dear friend. What if i use my notebook to online thru my phone? Logically its da same.
*
the price is different, and also the priority. Maxis Mobile Internet (MMI) - aka Maxis3G unlimited - users enjoy higher priority on the network, so they can get better internet connection compare to Maxis Wireless Broadband (MWB).

MWB is a stand alone data package. While MMI can be attached to their postpaid plan. if im not mistaken MMI is rm99/month. Yup, user can still surf internet on the laptop using MMI (using handphone as a modem), but MMI plan price is different from Maxis broadband. Im not sure about different between MMI and MWB, but maxis guy told me that. Mayne any maxis expert can explain us about this?

its not like Celcom, Celcom has terminated their 3G unlimited package, and all 3G unlimited users automatically converted to Celcom Broadband package. Wether attacted on postpaid or not, its the same package.

This is real.

I have used before the "BELI RM15 kredit dengan RM10" and "BELI RM8 kredit dengan RM5". The only thing negative is that the credits are spread on different dates, not in a single credit. So essentially, you have to stay with Hotlink.
*
i think bonus raya celcom is better, reload rm30 they give rm10, reload rm50 they give rm20 full cash on the same day.. but sadly during raya only :-(

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 27 2008, 11:53 PM)
i am so piss now.

I been using maxis caller ringtones RM3 for 15 songs . Last month i forget to reload to renew the ringtones today i called on how to renew the damn CS force me to use the new plan = RM2 a song so ill be paying RM30 monthly. He said i dont get refund and i get nothing.

The songs last time i bought RM3 each = RM45 i have to delete. I gonna report this to MCMC. I think ill switch my hotlink to UOX directly
*
i thought that new package effective since long time ago..

its not count by how long u use it, but it count by every single bytes data u received.. beware, one standard yahoo page (browse on laptop/pc) could cost you rm3 lol..

surfing on the handphone might be slightly cheaper compare to surf on the laptop.. but the data charges still 10sen/10kb..

usually, handphone browser (such as opera mini) reduce the size of webpage so it become cheaper.. the WAP page or mobile version page of anywebsite also come with minimum graphic and multimedia content..

however, eventhough with all that factors, you can still easily hit rm100 data charges.. so be carefull.

QUOTE(Reign @ Dec 18 2008, 09:37 AM)
I got sms from hotlinkgift. The question is why they offer something like this?  hmm.gif
*
don't u realize more and more people switching from hotlink to digi/celcom, they know maxis sucking their money everyday, with expensive rates at 60sec charging block. some others complaining about network quality, call drops, bad customer services, etc.. and some other complain about they can't stand any longer to delete too many spam sms and spam mms every day.. not to forget about hidden and unexpected charge.

i heard some of our fren here said, he got an information from internal staff that maxis lost almost half a milion customer (4% of total subsribers) just within less than one month after MNP launched.

maxis are actually realizing this, to mantain their market share, they need to give some rewards so people with stay with them.. after red promotion end soon, i believe they will offer another rewards to make people keep reloading and stay active with them..

and their trick is actually work, for example my nephew who had just bought SOX starterpack, she said dont want to reload maxis anymore, and using sox as her primary number. but because of red gifts, she reload another rm10 few days ago..
QUOTE(soul2soul @ Dec 18 2008, 11:45 AM)
got promotion now I think until end of this month, reload RM10 get 20 days validity.
*
dont worry, more promotion soon, trust me tongue.gif otherwise they will loose their market share.

QUOTE(-Max- @ Dec 18 2008, 11:20 PM)
They want you to spend RM2 instantly and then give you RM4 slowly (in RM1 x 4) after 3 months.
Yes, its stupid as it sounds to me. I didn't took it.
RM10 = 20 days validity?
How bout RM30/60 reloads?
*
that is the trick, to make sure you're not leaving hotlink to switch to other operator. thumbup.gif because the only reason why you all staying with hotlink is because, most of your fren are using hotlink too rite? and you will stay with hotlink as long as that reason is valid. maxis know it, so it must make sure they're still control the market. because they dont have any other strength.

and this situation also the same with postpaid segment. some of my fren who are using maxis postpaid are switching to either digi or celcom. and suprisingly no one switch from celcom/digi postpaid switch to maxis. sweat.gif

i can see other operator improving their network quality, services, reduce the prices. but i dont see it happen on maxis, even worse call drops statistic increasing everyday, 3g coverage still not improve after few years, reduce the price but using 60sec charging block.. so tricky.

note: since 60sec charging block applied now, wondering is they purposely drop the call so they can charge more? hmm.gif

More and more people using Hotlink. .. or wearing hotlink t-shirt

Lebih dengan Hotlink
More with hotlink.
*
wearing hotlink t-shirt doesn't mean they're using hotlink lol tongue.gif .. they might being ex-users, or hotlink dealer.. hotlink are giving tshirt at their booth, jomheboh karnival, etc.. so anyone can get it.. but can u see celcom is giving tshirt? no.. if celcom are giving tshirt everywhere, then more people are wearing celcom tshirt too rclxms.gif .. but that also doesn't mean they're using celcom rite?

im not saying all people are leaving hotlink, that is imposible.. but the trend shown us that, celcom/digi manage to get higher growth of subsribers compare to maxis (post-MNP).. don't you read news, during the MNP trial-run.. 12,000 people are porting their number.. and 6000 of them are switching to celcom.. and i believe the rest another 6000, majority of them are switching to digi..

but not to forget about how many of us that have more than one numbers, and using more than one telcos.. for example our best fren here fruitie (or aspire2oo6? not really sure) notworthy.gif , using all 3 service providers..

by the way, here is last september 2008 statistic (after reading their performance report on 3rd quarter 2008),

- maxis have 11.0 milions customers
- celcom have 8.25 milions customers
- digi have 6.8 milions customers

and what you mean by 'Lebih dengan Hotlink, More with hotlink.'.. more spam sms/mms? blush.gif

QUOTE(eddievh @ Dec 21 2008, 09:28 PM)
Hotlink offer the best rates ma 33cents to whole Malaysia biggrin.gif
*
i prefer to choose digi 36sen/min with 30sec charging block, rather than 33sen/min with 60sec charging block. its only slightly cheaper by 3sen, and need to reload rm30 to get it.. if you make total calls 100 minutes, then you just saving only rm3.. but you lost more than rm3 due to 60sec charging block.

try make call 5 minutes and 2 or 3 seconds, you will be charge rm1.98 with hotlink (33sen/min 60sec/block).. and also rm1.98 with digi (36sen/min 30sec/block).. see no different.. doh.gif and dont forget that maxis got the highest call drop statistic among all telcos.. you can't be sure you will manage to make a long call without dropping (escp on moving car).

* im not comparing with celcom uox since uox is only for below 26 years old (like me thumbup.gif ) hehe..

hi guys, yesterday, a maxis staff called me, saying that i'm their old customer , blah, blah, blah and asked me to change to post paid as i use quite a lot per month, they even  tell me how much i top up in previous 3 months to convince me, they r so hungry to hunt for their postpaid user now. haha. wat they offer me-
1. free 3g sim card
2. No deposit needed, they will courier the sim card to my house and finish the registration with the courier's staff.
They offer me the RM50 package. Do u all think that i need to change coz my currently top up is about RM70++ per month using hotlink talk plan.
*
with rm70 usage everymonth, better go to postpaid..

if all of your fren are using maxis, better use maxis postpaid..

maxis postpaid on-net call is 12sen, while off-net call 18sen..

but if you think not all of your fren are using maxis, then celcom and digi postpaid is much more cheaper since they offer flat rates to any network.

digi postpaid 13sen flat to anynetwork

celcom postpaid 15sen flat to anynetwork, and bil above rm60 got 10% discount, bil above rm80 got 20% discount on your monthly bil every month...

but its expensive.. and lot of hidden charge.. messy and confuse billing system.. and not to mention about spam sms/mms.. and also poor service quality recently.. plus 60sec charging block.. etc.. etc.. etc.. furthermore, other telco also offer rewards to their customer too.. 1 reason to stay with maxis, but 10 reason not to stay with maxis.. sweat.gif

Why this Maxis thread all discussing bout Digi and X-pax? lol

I just upgraded my line to plan 80. lol. Last month's usage went over my limit ( RM150 ) oso they didn't bar me. woo hoo.
*
wow, over rm150 per month... so much u can save if use celcom because get 30% (worth rm45) discount on monthly bill.. sweat.gif mean only pay 10.5sen/min voice call flat to ALL network, and 8.4sen/sms flat to ALL network (cheaper than maxis 80 plan already).

in addition, upgrade to plan 80 mean you must commit to use at least rm80 every month.. if your bill sometime up and sometime down, upgrading a plan is not a good solution.. but with celcom, you can enjoy all benefits in a single plan.. use more, save more.. use less, nothing to loss.. icon_rolleyes.gif

are u sure? i wondering why more than one milion people are currently using celcom postpaid, and increasing by day hmm.gif (celcom manage to get 23% number of subsribers growth in 3Q 2008)

even at this morning, one more staff at my ofice port to celcom (she just inform it to us today, actually she request to port last two weeks, but maxis seems unlikely to approve her request doh.gif ).. still waiting for porting process complete. icon_rolleyes.gif

yup, yesterday for example.. i made call using my celcom number to my fren maxis number.. in just about half hour of conversation, 4 times call drops doh.gif .. then i need to re-call again.. this is never happen if i make call to any celcom number..

QUOTE(shadow111 @ Jan 11 2009, 03:39 PM)

sign up to digi or celcom postpaid of course.. you will be suffer more if switch to maxis postpaid..

QUOTE(shadow111 @ Jan 11 2009, 04:33 PM)
luckily, most of my frens are using maxis...
*
you can't be sure.. like i mentioned before.. i also dont know number i call is celcom or not.. but as far as i know, no one switch to other network yet.. but few of my fren port from maxis to celcom/digi..

- my 2nd sister port from hotlink to digi prepaid (among the earliest person do porting lol)
- my bro-in-law port his hotlink and another number (as supplementary) to celcom 1+5
- my supervisor bring along all his relatives port into celcom (he said, not sure true or not), but he quite sensitive about 'batu caves' issue that is why he switch
- my staff collegue port her maxis postpaid into celcom postpaid 1+5 with her husband
- my nephew switch her hotlink to celcom SOX
- less than 10 (so far) of my coursemate switch to celcom UOX
- two (so far) of my coursemate port their hotlink to Celcom postpaid

all of them keep their existing number.. not to mention about more people are actually keep their hotlink number as secondary number now and start using other network as their primary line.. i found that some people hard to terminate their hotlink number, i dont know why.. they prefer to apply for a new number..

but i dont mind as long as they start to use other network..

one more thing, why maxis never published their financial reports. the last report published was during before ananda krishnan completely took over maxis few years ago.. since celcom and digi annouce their performance already, i need maxis performance report to make a comparison..

or did they make profit too much? so they don't want public know about it..

in muslim/malay community, there are some rumours saying that ananda krishnan is using some portion of maxis profit is using to funding 'kuil' at batu caves..

so, for some muslim people.. this is serious matter, they simply dont want to be 'part' of contributing to those kuil.. but for some others, they simply don't care or didn't aware about it..

im not sure if this rumour is true or not.. but that is the story.

USA somehow indirectly channels their money to support Israel to invade Gaza and kill innocent people, and people say we must boycott US/Israeli products to show support. I bet my pinky ur laptop/pc uses at least one component that was made by US and/or Israeli company.

So, is this serious matter , or are u part of USA/Israel already?

Please use ur brain wisely... if u have any.

its still up to consumers wether to do so or not.why so serious..  sweat.gif
*
yeah, no offense tongue.gif .. that is why i said some of them think it is a serious matter, and some other simply ignored it.. and im not talking about myself, just sharing a story of some of my frens.. eventhough im not using maxis, but that is not my major intention, but it is because of other factor such as services and rates.

about boycot american/israel company.. we all realise that we depends on them, even yahoo and google also a US company, what to do.. but i try my best to spend a much little as possible as i can on US/israel company..

and regarding on the financial reports, that is why i didn't like a private company. maybe we think private company could provide better service, bud do you think maxis getting better after being private firm? in term of price/rates maybe yes, its become more expensive, but not the service.. definitely not doh.gif

of course.. we all know that maxis is STILL no 1.. and in that newspapar, the no of digi subsribers is based on their Q3 performance report.. and that is why also i mentioned about maxis do not published their performance report after being private firm.

Maxis - 11 milions subsribers (based on their media statement few months ago - before MNP)
Celcom - 8.25 milions subsribers (based on their 3q 2008 report)
Digi - 6.8 milions subsribers (based on their 3q 2008 report) - like in your newspaper screenshot

and dont expect MNP give major changes to the market share.. like what digi CEO said (please refer btimes.com.my), only about hundreds people are port in to digi everyday..

we dont compare by total number of subsribers, because the fact is maxis number 1, followed by celcom and digi.. but we compare in term of user growth.. celcom for example, in last 3Q manage to obtain 23% inreased in number of subsribers.
