He added that my engine comes from Indonesia and not from M'sia... Correct me pls... Worst he said... because of the plug difference... i wont get any RMP meter forever...

I think your mechanic is talking cock and bull story, especially the "Engine comes from Indonesia".If can, can you guys show me how to install the meter and where do the plug the guy said located?? Hello mechanic~! Engine is Mitsubishi and buatan Malaysia only la~! Secondly it's possible.Just need to tap from the ECU, or crank sensor, depending on the car. Goto another (any) accessory shop and tell them you want to install RPM meter. Read this forum: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=400189 But it's preferably to install WIRA 1.5L or Mitsubishi (imported) meters, cause they are the most accurate. I have tried before, comparing the AutoGauge and a "swap over" Nissan Sunny "EXTRA" model meter. The ori Sunny meter is more accurate than the AutoGauge. Why is a stock tacho more accurate than an Autogauge? Is it because Autogauge uses stepper motor but stock tacho uses a voltage coil and is more instantaneous? |

Haha .. funny ... from indonesia .. lolz...
btw, most satria/wira ... year 2000 and above already has all the cables you need on ur dashboard and plug nicely d... if u wan it to look original .. just buy a 1.5/1.6/1.8 meter... just plug in and hooray your RPM meter is working d. My old satria 1.3 ... i plug in a putra 1.8 meter .. works nicely .. without any wiring modification .. its a satria 2001 .. |

I driving 1.3 satria too. Instead i bought an autogauge rpm meter. It's quite slow motion compare to oem's but its better than ntg. I'm currently looking for wira se 1.5 meter(the red one) but prices are hefty. Anyone knows where to get it?

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Mar 12 2010, 11:59 AM) the meter shd sit in without rewiring. And if your car are before year 2001 (most probably) .. and its a 1.3 .. it is possible that the engine RPM reading wire are not install .. u need to wire that particular wire only sifo, my wira is 2001.... so how...? can i use those CARB wira type 1? i mean the 1.5 ones.... wat are the disadvantages if i use CARB meter...? |

i think can direct plug in.
my ex-satria 1.3 .. its a 2001 (end) version.. direct plug in .. no need rewired anything.. the downside of using carb meter is u dun have the Check engine light like shawnzz says.. but u can always mix and match .. last time i bought a 2nd putra meter.. the back cover connector spoilt so i took out the meter and put into the 1.3 satria back covers and u get all the lights u want. |

Only 2 cable needed. 1 direct tap from ECU, another 1 is electric for the light (Background). That's all. 5 minutes work. |
