For me, a good goal is a good goal no matter what. I can't say I have a particular favourite, but I do like to see solo runs and the cheeky/fancy stuff.

Anyway, here's a few of my favourites from Arsenal that I can think of at the top of my head (in no particular order): -

1) Thierry Henry's flick-turn-lob from outside penalty area against Man U

2) Bergkamp's flick to the right and spin to the left past Dabizas against Newcastle

3) RVP's super volley from outside the area, after an excellant cross from (gasp!) Eboue vs Charlton.

4) Bergkamp's 2 or 3rd goal (cant remember) in the hattrick vs Leceister. The one where he chested down a lob into the box, flicked it over the left and over the defender and slotted cooly past the keeper.

5) Henry's solo run against Spurs from inside our own half.

6) Henry's solo run against Liverpool in the 4-2 comeback win. Made Carragher look like an arse tongue.gif

7) Adebayor equaliser vs Spurs where he flicked and 180 spin volley from just outside the area.

8) Kanu's cheeky behind the back leg flick against Boro... gawd I'm bad at describing goals...

9) Henry's back heel against Charlton. He had his back to goal and the defender was all over him. He just took a gamble and slammed the ball with his back heel as hard as possible and it went between the defender's legs and into the goal. Keeper had no chance.

10) Various Bergkamp-Pires-Henry-Ljungberg and occasionaly (ugh) Ashely Cole combos. (Admittedly, I can't think of one to describe now, hence the general statement)

if u remember wat eric cantona used to say..
the goal is perfect when it is beaufitul and also important.. that's my impression of a perfect goal..
just like the FA cup final vs liverpool when cantona scores a screaamerrr...

and also a few goals who blew me away was the good ol RONALDO of barcelona.. when he takes the world by storm with incredible solo goal from out of nowhere to score..

I really liked Rooney against Arsenal few season's back. Silvestre won a ball from a tackle, ran upfield, crossed the ball to Rooney who brilliantly controlled the ball and hammered it pass Arsenal's keeper. I thought that was a brilliant piece of football. But the perfect goal for me would be one-man-goal show.

Messi going through five defenders a few weeks ago and Goggs against Arsenal in 1999 were of a different class.

I'd like to believe that football is a team sport and any goal that involves the whole team is a "beautiful goal". It is a reason I like Arsenal play because they share the ball a lot and move it about really quickly from defence to attack. I don't have any specific examples to cite. As far as individual goals go, I don't believe many players have dribbled past 7 defenders including the goalkeeper to score ala Maradona. John Barnes also scored against Brazil for England after a superb individual effort.

I voted for Pass-pass-pass-Bang! but not all of them are beautiful (at least to me). For example Argentina's goal against Serbia in WC where Argentina kept possession by making 25 passes before Cambiaso scores was a plain boring, i don't even expect it will be a goal but i consider it as a perfect goal as it was involving team work effort from Argentina and i like it so much.

For me it would be a pass-pass-pass- and a boom...

Nasri's 2nd goal vs Man UTD at Emirates Stadium was like 15 pass before a screamer past Van der Sar.VDS wan't able to do anything about it. thumbup.gif

Pass, pass, pass and boom for me. Especially those counter attacking ones, a few dummy here and there, and a through pass with only the GK to beat. Won't get bored watching it over and over.

Long range screamers are also great. And who can say no to a dribbling goal, go past 3-4 defenders, beating them with spins and skills, and then bang. That Gourcruff(Milan player, loan to Bordeoux this season scored a few lovely individual goals this season).

Anyway, here's a few of my favourites from Arsenal that I can think of at the top of my head (in no particular order): -

1) Thierry Henry's flick-turn-lob from outside penalty area against Man U
Will never forget that goal. I thought it was a lucky goal as Henry's back was facing the goal. He tried that again the following game and the shot went like a million miles wide.

2) Bergkamp's flick to the right and spin to the left past Dabizas against Newcastle
By far my favourite Arsenal goal of all time. I still can picture the goal vividly till today. I remember waking up to watch this match and the goal made it all worth it.

3) RVP's super volley from outside the area, after an excellant cross from (gasp!) Eboue vs Charlton.
Thats a stunner. Some claimed it was luck but if you watch the replay, you will realise RVP timed his run and even adjusted his jump half way thru and simply slammed it first time and into the goal. A STUNNER!

4) Bergkamp's 2 or 3rd goal (cant remember) in the hattrick vs Leceister. The one where he chested down a lob into the box, flicked it over the left and over the defender and slotted cooly past the keeper.
Never watched that game but i remember seeing it in youtube.

5) Henry's solo run against Spurs from inside our own half.
A similar goal to the one against Liverpool, below.

6) Henry's solo run against Liverpool in the 4-2 comeback win. Made Carragher look like an arseĀ  tongue.gif

7) Adebayor equaliser vs Spurs where he flicked and 180 spin volley from just outside the area.
I watched this too and i must say the goal resembled a Drogba goal, can't remember who he scored it against.

Thats classic Henry. He was bring hassled by 2 defenders and the GK was guarding the goal and he cheekily backheeled into the goal. I think none of the defenders or even GK predicted he would do that. They were probably expecting him to dribble his way out or look for a pass. As usual, Henry surprises everyone.

10) Various Bergkamp-Pires-Henry-Ljungberg and occasionaly (ugh) Ashely Cole combos. (Admittedly, I can't think of one to describe now, hence the general statement)
Pires did score many fantastic and important goals. I think the one that requires special mention is the lob he scored against Southamton in the 7-0 or 7-1 win. When he lobbed the ball, i think it took a very unusual flight and suddently just dropped into the goal. A superb chip.

Gerrard's goal against Middlesbrough, the volley that curled absolutely breath-takingly into the top left hand corner, outswinging beauty.

Several one-touch passes which leads to goals are the best suited for the perfect goal criteria imo.

ManUtd vs Roma 06-07 where there were 4 one-touches leading to the goal is the stand out i've seen so far.

Though eyecandy's such as dribbles and lobs are a joy to watch. Volley's as well.
