For me, a good goal is a good goal no matter what. I can't say I have a particular favourite, but I do like to see solo runs and the cheeky/fancy stuff.
Anyway, here's a few of my favourites from Arsenal that I can think of at the top of my head (in no particular order): -
1) Thierry Henry's flick-turn-lob from outside penalty area against Man U
Will never forget that goal. I thought it was a lucky goal as Henry's back was facing the goal. He tried that again the following game and the shot went like a million miles wide. 2) Bergkamp's flick to the right and spin to the left past Dabizas against Newcastle
By far my favourite Arsenal goal of all time. I still can picture the goal vividly till today. I remember waking up to watch this match and the goal made it all worth it.3) RVP's super volley from outside the area, after an excellant cross from (gasp!) Eboue vs Charlton.
Thats a stunner. Some claimed it was luck but if you watch the replay, you will realise RVP timed his run and even adjusted his jump half way thru and simply slammed it first time and into the goal. A STUNNER!4) Bergkamp's 2 or 3rd goal (cant remember) in the hattrick vs Leceister. The one where he chested down a lob into the box, flicked it over the left and over the defender and slotted cooly past the keeper.
Never watched that game but i remember seeing it in youtube.5) Henry's solo run against Spurs from inside our own half.
A similar goal to the one against Liverpool, below. 6) Henry's solo run against Liverpool in the 4-2 comeback win. Made Carragher look like an arseĀ
7) Adebayor equaliser vs Spurs where he flicked and 180 spin volley from just outside the area.
I watched this too and i must say the goal resembled a Drogba goal, can't remember who he scored it against.8) Kanu's cheeky behind the back leg flick against Boro... gawd I'm bad at describing goals...
9) Henry's back heel against Charlton. He had his back to goal and the defender was all over him. He just took a gamble and slammed the ball with his back heel as hard as possible and it went between the defender's legs and into the goal. Keeper had no chance.
Thats classic Henry. He was bring hassled by 2 defenders and the GK was guarding the goal and he cheekily backheeled into the goal. I think none of the defenders or even GK predicted he would do that. They were probably expecting him to dribble his way out or look for a pass. As usual, Henry surprises everyone.10) Various Bergkamp-Pires-Henry-Ljungberg and occasionaly (ugh) Ashely Cole combos. (Admittedly, I can't think of one to describe now, hence the general statement)
Pires did score many fantastic and important goals. I think the one that requires special mention is the lob he scored against Southamton in the 7-0 or 7-1 win. When he lobbed the ball, i think it took a very unusual flight and suddently just dropped into the goal. A superb chip.
