Depends on the shop. Many will take deposit first. Deposits can range from RM300-500 (returnable) and rental can be RM50-200 depends on the stuff you are renting. The ones that is cheap and always works is a tuxedo. If you rent those special wedding groom suits, they might cost a little more. Good luck.

I don't think there are places that rent brands here. Never seens before. But then again how many rental shops i have been to before?

Most of the shops nowdays would have normal tuxedo or wedding groom suits that are tailored in some specific styles. It could be fantasy or even modified versions of formal wear. These can be rented or bought.

The only specific rental shop i know in KL besides bridal shops is Dynasty Rental. It is located 1st floor in a building called Campbell complex across Sogo. Inside Campbell is quite interesting, there is a lot of tailors too. So is in Pertama Complex. But the only rental place is in Campbell.

Else all bridal places can rent tuxedo or some form of formal wear. I know a few photogaphy shops that rents too. Just ask them.

Here the acceptable formal wear can be at least a Batik shirt or a shirt and tie. In other countries, a suit or a tuxedo. Not nard to see why there isn't a lot of shops renting out such things.

Rent suits? I only know most wedding shops rent out wedding suits. And mostly are black. If you are just renting a regular suit, ask your friends and the like to borrow. And you pay them a little token of appreciation. wink.gif

Dear Sir,

Hope you doing great. Im Jason and my secretary came across your AD regarding your upcoming event.

Would like to just inform you as to wht i do.

My business entails rental of suits ranging from different colors and different sizes.

The main purpose of this business is to help people afford a suit(rental) for special occasions, for example(graduation ceremonies, prom night or any other formal events).

If im not mistaken we are the only one in Malaysia SPECIALISING in suit rental.

The best part of this is that our prices are specially altered to accommodate customer's.

And of course , the bigger the order the better the rate.

On the other hand I’m also the Director of Jason's men shop(M)Sdn Bhd which is a seperate company from the one mentioned above. Jason's men shop on the other hand does tailoring of suits and also custom made suits which is of course slightly more expensive.

With all that said, in any event if there is a need to rent or make a suit....ill be happy to assist.

I have all the sizes from S to XXL.

Thanks,
Jason Kumar

Hi hi,

My partner is 6'4" (190cm) tall with longish arms to match! Does anyone know of a tuxedo rental shop that accommodates this size?

Thanks!

Well, we have rented before and was recommended by my friend who told that this company specializes in rental of tuxedo suit (full suit with dress-shirt, bow-tie, cummerbund and hanki) and also black lounge suit and wedding suits with various colours and types of vests. The name is Dynasty Formalwears located at 1st floor Campbell Complex, KL. The last time we rented was RM 160-180 in year 2008 for a full complete suit with all the accessories of bow-tie, dress-shirt etc. Price may have increased slightly since. We still have the contact numbers +603 26983195 and +6019 3148902 look for Michael. They did a good job and that year was my wedding.

Please note that a jacket or even full suit is not considered formal wear. A real tuxedo is totally different, even down to shoes and socks. Try to find out the real requirements for the event. Organizers should also be careful in wording their invitations so as not to cause unnecessary hassle for guests.

Hi there, I am also planning to rent a lounge suit or something of that sort for my convocation ceremony.

Since this thread is quite old, is there any new shops or places to go and rent this kind of thing? Slim fit one is preferable because I'm quite slim.

The most common dress code for a black tie is black tuxedo, white formal shirt, black tie, black pants, black socks & black shoes.
Alternatively, your shoes can change to brown if u're confident in your looks blush.gif

Why not just buy a suit online from online shop like Custlr

Only cost less than RM300 to purchase a blazer. Just send them an enquiry. I wanted to rent one but the designs are all old and total, including deposit comes up to more than RM300. The ones at Pertama Kompleks even worse, no mood to entertain me also wah lau bangwall.gif . Better buy one la lol. You can ask them for cheap or expensive material, they got a few range depending on $$$

Regards,
Koong The Road
