The highly anticipated music festival in Malaysia is now back for its second year.

Sunburst KL International Music Festival 2009, will be held on 21st March 2009, Saturday at the Polo Pavillion, Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, Kuala Lumpur.

Pineapple Concerts promises Sunburst KL 2009 to be the most exciting music festival in Malaysia, putting together 12-hours of non-stop, back-to-back great live performances by local, regional and international artists. The one-day music festival will showcase various attractions for all ages; from great music to a variety of fun activities.

Music lovers will be entertained by great live performances across 6 performance stages. The Sunburst signature Sun & Sky Stage will return as the main platform for the international headliners & established local acts, while a massive indoor marquee will house the Livesounds Stage and Tuborg Loud & Clear Stage, showcasing the best local & regional acts in a more intimate setting. The Speedzone Interactive Tour will feature Formula 1 & Moto GP simulators within a futuristic club feel environment with deejays pumping out tunes as you race along your favorite track. Last but not least, the Silent Disco Arena makes its first appearance at Sunburst where not a single speaker will be in sight as revelers rock out to groovy tunes by A-list deejays via the 300 pairs of wireless headphones available.

Pineapple Concerts will officially announce the international headliners along with the complete artist lineup for Sunburst KL 2009 at Malaysia’s first ever ‘silent press conference’ on 6th February 2009 held at the main entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping centre. Following the brief media only event, a launch party will be held for the public immediately after where the uninitiated can sample the Silent Disco phenomena before experiencing the full-scale version at Sunburst KL 2009.

The Early Bird Promotion offers 30% discounts off the pre-sale ticket price (i.e RM143 only) for those who purchase tickets from 20th January 2009 until 8th February 2009. Pre-Sale tickets are priced at RM 203, while tickets sold at the door on show-day will cost RM 253.

I heard Coldplay is going but sadly they aren't going to play a lot of songs. They are gonna be here, play about 2 or 3 songs and let the others perform.
I want to see them live though! I doubt I could make it there although I wish I could.

the line up this year is not worth the money RM143. If coldplay comes and performs at least 1hour++ then even RM200 is worth it.

i was at the launch, pretty damn disappointing though. We couldn't get in at first, apparently only VIPs allowed inside and public will have to line up. So we stood in line, then went in and was hoping they might continue to announce the international line ups throughout the night so we waited but then they didn't in the end...
after that we just went to bangkok jazz and went home. @_@

only nerd as international act? i wonder if they will still come if they knew they were gonna be the only international act performing?

oh well, i got at least four free drinks(2 tuborg, 1 jager, 1 vodka) from some VIP lady who gave me complimentary free drink passes lol

Massive letdown. After the high of last year, this is a de-boner. Won't be going for this edition. Hope next year's list will be a lot more better.

I was at last year's Sunburst.. much better than this year's line up.

Nevertheless I bought the tix yesterday for NERD and Lupe Fiasco..

hopefully it won't rain..last year it rained the whole frigging day
