sometime if buy AP the seller will take something from the box like the strap or the stand
the seller told me that
*
some sellers even take things out from original sets. usually they will do it if they feel the customer is like waterfish or easy to con.

actually the adaptive search fails to give the user ease of use. i also turn that feature off too. i hate the fact that there are two pages of alphabets for the first letter at least. sigh.

Wah... thank you, thank you and thank you...  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif So that how to change them,

But after try a few names, I found that in this case keypad much more better than this. Wakaka... I really hope Nokia come up with a new way.
*
hehe. it's quite sad that after all the R & D that Nokia did for the adaptive search (first for a phone), then nobody really wants to use it. lol.

but actually i think it's pretty cool if the user's phonebook got thousands of names, very easy to look through. and a lot of my friends are WOWed after i show the function to them. but thing is, it really needs to get used to and i cant get used to it. >.<

Its because we are poor we buy the 5800...

if we were rich, we would hv gotten an iPhone/Omnia/innov8/xperia/HTC Touch Pro/the coming N97 =D
*
yup. very true. no matter how great it is, it's cheap price makes it a poor man's phone. furthermore, when i go shopping centre like Low Yat Plaza, just pass by most phone shops and sure got customer buying the 5800. talk about common. lol.

Mine hang when running GPS and then can't get lock on sattelites, while call come in....after that super hang....need to retstart...whole thing stuck on the GPS map.
*
Same thing that happened with my n82 last time when I was running Garmin Mobile XT. sweat.gif
Although I haven't tried Garmin on my 5800 yet, but I believe it will be worse than N82 since even now my 5800 hangs/restarts every 1-2 days. Maybe because I'm a heavy user and quite lazy to keep on closing programs after using. lol

i'm curious if they will replace u with the same casing as u r using now.
i just accept the fact that my casing is like that. cry.gif
maybe it's the design and not a defect.

From past experiences, mirror screen protector are more prone to scratches. And don't last as long as normal screen protectors.
Especially for 5800 where we cause friction on the surface, i believe it may cause scratch marks. Unless you get very high quality ones.
*
thanks for the quick review. i was really keen on getting one myself, but since a scratched mirror screen protector will look far worse than a scratched normal screen protector, now i guess i won't anymore. sweat.gif

Yeah, but it doesn't bother me. Light leak is not that serious till it affects the overall display. Still acceptable.
*
I think those that complain about the light leakage are really fussy people. lol.
I know mine has light leakage too but it doesn't bother me and hardly noticeable. Although other phones I've used don't have such defects, this is really nothing at all. Now, if the 5800 doesn't have such light leakage but price at RM1.6k due to better build, then i'd rather take the light leakage anytime. laugh.gif

hmm since u guys talking about screen protector...anyone used those posted on front page??

is invisible shield worth the RM30 he's talking about??? or the RM6 skool brand enough already??
*
i think the rm6 skool brand is enough already if u just want to protect the screen. If you want to get the invisible shield, make sure u get the full-body one which costs rm60-80 and that will really help.

The reason i wanted to get a good SP cause my current 1 got tis issue :
when i take photo with the SP on.. I notice the picture will turn whitish blur (too bright) <-- only happen when i used flash..  doh.gif
I tried taken off the back cover and snap the same photo..no such issue  sweat.gif

Skool got include back camera SP? got issue above?
*
For the camera, i think better just remove the SP since the flash will illuminate the SP and cause ur photo to be ruined. I have never used any SP for my camera lense in all my phones. I know the 5800 camera lense cover part is exposed, but i think u won't easily scratch it since it is recessed.

the pouch that they give can scratch my phone ah??cause i can feel when i put my phone inside it is so hard and when want to take it out it is so hard to like its touching the body of the phone when pulling it out..can it scratch the phone...tq
*
I'm not that worried about that as I think it won't scratch. It's just that it takes too long to take out the phone from the pouch when I'm answering calls, and made me miss some calls even. doh.gif
Now I just left the pouch back in the box.

Same here. I'm really starting to give up on this camera. Very sad about it. I think this is the first time Nokia has put a worthless camera sensor into a Carl-Zeiss optics Nokia phone. sad.gif

let us know how it goes, man. now u r going back to the shop u bought from or going to nokia care centre? i think if u go nokia care centre, u only can get it repaired. but if u go back to the shop, u might get an exchange, which is what u deserve because this seems like a big problem.

are ya sure man?? 1:1 trade??

iphone faster, smoother. i tried my frens' and made my 5800xm look really old
*
actually the iPhone can get boring really fast (i'm an iPhone 3G and 5800 user myself) since the OS is pretty limit such as cannot send/receive files through bluetooth, hassle to use custom ring/message tone, lack of a proper GPS navigation software, etc etc.

i've also seen my fren traded in his iPhone 2G for a 5800 (1-to-1 trade, no top-up). he's very happy with his 5800 now. laugh.gif

but one thing i have to say, the iPhone's camera even though 2MP only, has much less noise than the 5800's 3.2MP carl-zeiss camera. sweat.gif

what you said about the camera is true, I tried it even though it doesn't have autofocus. Much better than 5800's.

but gps?? me and my fren both whipped out our phones and tried connecting to gps..5800's gps receiver couldn't receive anything but iphone one got connected right away! we tried it on a wet weather. He was using google map though..seems like got offline version for iphone but not 5800 tongue.gif

for the bluetooth part..u're right too..we had 5 frens trading pictures that nite..while he just couldn't join the fun biggrin.gif
*
haha. the iPhone's GPS is good, but the software implementation just isn't there for offline GPS navigation. for navigation, there is only Google Maps and u need an unlimited 3G/Edge plan if u want to use it without blowing a hole in your wallet. lol. so in this case, the 5800 wins, since now Garmin Mobile XT can work on the 5800 with a virtual key software.

yes the bluetooth thing is really dumb. even if the iPhone could send/receive files, i guess cannot even use those music files immediately as ring/sms tones since Apple has made everything to be pirate-proof etc. lol.

i wish the notification light can blink faster when there's incoming sms, missed calls and new mails..the current one is way too damn slow..30 seconds before it blinks again..sadly this firmware doesnt include this feature..
*
i wish for that too. i don't know why Nokia made it blink so darn slowly whilst the E71 blinks very fast and very easy to tell that i've got a missed call/sms.
