Added on March 2, 2009, 5:21 pmif you simply change the today's theme (.tsk), the performance will not much of a different since theme file uses very small memory. of course, if you don't use at all, there might be 'slight' increase in memory. today's skin that will burden your device would be those 3rd party screening software such as Wisbar Advanced, TouchFlo 3D, TouchFlo Manilla2D, mobile shell, etc. my recommendation is to try each one of them and take the one you happy with.

that's totally normal dude, nothing to do with OS, memory whatsoever.

the alphabet showing on the right of the number denotes what was the last contact category you had transacted, for instance, 'm' means mobile, 'txt' means sms. as for the incomplete number display, that was something weird, mine displayed perfectly in full. and for the side bar with a..z index, that's normal, you can remove it via Menu -> Options... just check the box 'Show alphabetical index'. i disliked the sidebar too.
