nice sharing bro oldnewspaper  rclxms.gif the graphics look so cool!!  thumbup.gif but i don't think the map is as detail as Garmin/Mapking maps coz we don't have local community to draw the map compatible for that software..

MSM and MFM are always the best   drool.gif

Anyway, lets give it a try! (waiting for oldnewspaper links to download tongue.gif)

you're fast ! rclxms.gif you'll be surprise to find that the map is quite current and updated ! but the POI is not so comprehensive compare with those user contribution based map.....but overall this software smoke others !

New device?? woww.. but my pocket already empty, cant afford to buy any new PDA .. i guess the price is around 3k  sweat.gif what device is that? anyway we'll wait for your new discovery and kindly share with us  rclxms.gif
There are two rules:
1. you've prepared yourself for a hard reset which means need to reinstall all apps, registry tweaks, etc..
2. your device must HardSPL first before installing this WM 6.5 or else it will be a total-loss

I'm going to install it maybe today or tmorow and we'll see how this new WM work with our TP .. normally i just wait for oldnewspaper to try it out first LOL tongue.gif ... there are few chefs offering new WM6.5 ROMs but i choose Shep's ROM since there are lots of +ve feedbacks , saying it looks cool, very fast, stable etc..
Does it work with you?  unsure.gif

Added on April 19, 2009, 5:49 pmi just flashed WM 6.5 ROM and all i can say is... OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG !!!! this is unbelievable !!! ... i will give my preview later.. now have to go back home.. its getting cloudy here.. worry if heavy rain
*
nope...this new 'pda phone'...errr it more towards a smartphone.... costing less than 1K tongue.gif ..., i like it because of the size and the more advanced touch screen technology....it's even smaller than diamond...spec wise definitely lose out to our TP...LOL. it's the design i'm looking forward...

latest cooked win 6.5 rom is less buggy as compare to its initial released....and if i were to choose which 6.5 rom....i'll would give this Shep's rom a try too...

btw: i'm a miniature & designer phone / pda collector... biggrin.gif [ so far i have only 5 device with me....3 pda and 2 phone, and letting go my dopod D810 go soon....]

Darn... my TP just died... I can't even get it to turn on and charging doesn't even trigger the charging LED. Hopefully warranty can still be claimed as I have used HardSPL sad.gif
*
sending back to SIS with non stock SPL will definitely void the warranty.....

i'll suggest you to try these;

1. remove out the battery for few minutes [ 5 min ]....and reinsert it back. if it still doesn't work, try to hard reset it

2. try use another charger as bro pcboy mentioned earlier

3. if all above still couldn't work, try to use another new battery [ go to any htc accessories shop, pretend to buy a new battery and test it on the spot.. tongue.gif ]

Hi bro OldNewspaper, here is how my TP symptom looks like... : I tried to turn on the device but the screen do not display anything including the backlight as well but the device will vibrate once ( as what TP will vibrate when device is reset or turned on )

I've tooked out the battery as what you mentioned for more than 5 hrs but still the same result. I've used various chargers also including my ol' rw6828 charger but no avail. Now only left to test is with a new battery. I might need to try to use your technique hehehe  tongue.gif

Btw I've used HardSPL the second day I bought my TP, so I don't suspect any software issues here... but I could be wrong... I've used official TP ROM with hardSPL for no prob. i just noticed my TP became like this after when I wanted to call someone which the TP was in my pda pouch...
Hi antipoison, the HardSPL process went well and its quite safe. I've flashed various ROMS but still found that official ROM is still faster with OldNewspaper's & other contributors in LYN's tweaks. Its just that the device just suddenly failed on me when I needed it sad.gif. I've looked through other forums on the net and found most of TP users faced the same problem more like pre-mature failure of some batches of TP.
*
still got vibrate when turn on but the the screen is black out......is there even any start up sound? sweat.gif i haven't experience this before...but anyway here's some checklist for you...

posibility 1 : hardware issue

firstly, take out the battery and check the 3 pin connector on your TP [ the gold color pin which physically touch the battery ] - check is any of the pin dented / broken especially the middle pin. if dented, try straighten it back, reinsert battery and turn it on again....if all the 3 pin are in good conditions, proceed to the next step:

possibility 2 : bad radio rom / bad flash

follow bro pcboy instruction, enter into bootloader mode....if you can manage to into bootloader means you had a bad flash [ very highly the radio culprit ] previously...don't take any chances anymore,immediately flash back to stock spl and rom.

if still cannot turn on, the only possibility is : dead screen / fried board...send back to SIS and pretend that you're still noob using pda and if they voice out about warranty void because of custom spl/rom.....simply tell them it's not your fault, tell them it's your phone dealer whom 'install' the cooked rom for you without even noticing it... tongue.gif

cheers up bro!

hi. i'm new user of htc touch pro. i copied NetCF 3.5 + NetCF Tool and installed the NetCF Tool. after that i clicked on .Net Configuration and only able to see default, 2.0.7045 this 2 items in device policy. i didn't see 3.5.7283.0. anything wrong? another question, what's the different with stock rom and rom?

rom version: 5.07.707.2 WWE
Radio version: 1.11.25.01

should i update any? for the new user of htc touch pro, is there anything should i aware?

i'm sorry if i'm been asking the stupid questions here.

big thanks to all:)

welcome to the club! rclxms.gif

the best place is to refer to the first page [ most of the things you should know were compiled there ] or head up to xda-developer site for more advanced discussion / details....

the rom and the radio version is the most current official radio / rom, so no need to upgrade for time being unless you wanted to shift to unofficial cooked rom...

don't worry to ask anything here, you'll get your question answered by so many sifu here....

why everyone so quite already? ... sweat.gif

as bro baronic mentioned, there's isn't such things as the best cooked rom....every rom chef have their own preference and taste.... BUT i can tell you the best of the best cooked rom is this ;
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

if you're looking for stability and bug free rom please stay away from cooked rom....i'd been using tweaked official rom till now and i have not face any single issue so far... biggrin.gif [ 99.9% perfect in terms of stability ]

anyway, there's no harm to try out those cooked rom out there and they look tempting too drool.gif , there's no point asking which is the best rom etc etc....the best is to try out every single one till you feel satisfied...LOL and drop your comment in this format ; [ as reference / benchmark for other user ]

wondering if you all have this problem.

1: Keyboard lights always turn off. Anyone of you have any tweaks so i can have the keyboard lights always on until i slide back in the keyboard?
its very troublesome to surf at nite. Have to press a button only lights come back on.

2: SMS tone. If you assign a 2 minit mp3/ringtone to it, and u receive a sms. The tone will finish sing the 2 minit. Even u have finished opening and reading the sms. This problem seems to be with me since i first used O2 mini. Now although i am using a 10 secs ringtone, it sure sounds noisy at times!

3: After sliding out the keyboard, the "Home" page will change, rite?
how to customize those icons there? cos i only use 2 of the items there, the rest i am not using also...

Thanks to those sifu out there ya!
smile.gif
*
1. there's a registry tweak for this....but to make thing simple, check it out HERE !

2. edit/trim your mp3/ringtone to a shorter duration....LOL

3. you can edit the icon yourself by using the manila editor software.....errr it's quite a tedious process..., but to make easier, head on to xda developer and search for the tf3d / manila theme there....there are plenty nice one there or switch to the TF3D 2....

ALERT : !!! A MUST TRY APPLICATION FOR TOUCH PRO USER ! [ stock / cooked rom user ]

TF3D, CorePlayer playback, Opera, iGo 8, gaming etc etc 'enhancement' driver !
brows.gif by Chainfire [ xda-developer member ]

For HTC-built MSM7K-based devices only! All MSM7K are technically capable, but only HTC's may have the correct drivers. Will probably not work on stock ROMs. I suspect the CDMA versions of the older MSM7K devices - pre-diamond - do not have the necessary drivers either. As far as I know, the first device that came with these drivers is the Kaiser, but IIRC they are also included in various Polaris ROMs.

About
Short and simple, GfxBoost activates "QTV" mode for specific surfaces. This makes for example DirectDraw display smoother and: a bit slower or significantly faster, depending on how you look at it. It also seems to have a small effect on Direct3D/OpenGL.

Err, what?
Right, this is a bit tricky! If you will benchmark it the result will be lower FPS. However, it will actually appear faster. This is because normally, not all frames are actually drawn on-screen, and the timing of the drawing can be so it appears nothing is being actually drawn at all. This does not happen when using GfxBoost - more is actually drawn to the screen, and smoother. So, from the application's point of view, it can do less per second, but from what you actually see on-screen, more happens! If you don't understand what I mean, just take it from me: it definitely looks better

Some good effects : rclxms.gif

* Manila2D is faster/smoother
* PointUI is smoother
* CorePlayer playback in DirectDraw mode is smoother *depends on version and settings*
* Titanium seems to be faster
* Diamond Hologram seems to be much faster
* Opera 9.5 seems to be much faster
* SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 seems to be smoother
* iGo 8 feels the love
* morphgear feels the love
* FinalBurn feels the love
* TouchFlo 3D feels the love
* XTRAKT feels the love

Just a Little Update Here : NetCF 3.7 is out !

for those had been playing/using netCF 3.5 previously will know the advantages of it brows.gif , for more info check out the old thread HERE !

note : netCf is backward compatible so no worry about compatibility issue here...and you don't have to remove the previous version too!

to enable this netCF3.7, you have to use the netCF config tool [ available in the old thread mentioned above ], but even this will not guarantee 100% optimization of it, i'll make a cab file for you guys soon to fully optimize this 100% !.. biggrin.gif

cooked rom user : pls note that some latest rom has this cooked it in already....so it's not necessary to update this anymore...

Download the netCf 3.7, HERE !

why just cover up the back only? lol, don't worry the back cover will not easily got scratch....i'm using naked TP [ except screen protector ] since day 1 and is 100% scratch free... biggrin.gif

but if you really need to cover it up, any shield will do but it will collect dust at the edge of the shield...
