Baronic, are you using any WM6.5 unofficial rom? if yes, do you have WWP v1.0.3? If yes, how do you get it to config the keys? I am using Tael's 2.2xxxx.

Don't whine about whether it will be phased out or not. What you have to look at is your investment vs your usage. If you are gonna spend 3k for a device and you really enjoy and love it and it actually makes you a happier/more efficient/nicer person, then i dont see why its expensive. Same goes for a 2k device.

As the saying goes "Money isn't money till its spent". But just be wise in your decision. If waiting will enable you to make a better decision, then so be it.

ROM its like the OS for the phone.
Flashing ROM its like updating your PC.
ROM updates from time to time, for better performance and bugs fixed.

In XDA-Developers forum, under Touch Pro section, they've made a complete easy understanding guide for people like me, which is a new user to flash the ROM.
You can read it yourself @ XDA-Developers.

I remember before getting a Touch Pro, I've studied that section for like 1 week.
Then when hand-on with the device, I already got everything needed downloaded.
Then I just refer to the page that I've provided above, and follow the steps carefully, and I've successfully flashed my 1st ROM.

So many cooked ROM and which to choose?
I got a few recommendation.
1. TAEL ROM v3.28002 SENSE Edition [21/09/2009]
- I'm currently using this ROM. It consists latest Windows Mobile 6.5 build with the new Manila 2.5 that extracted from Touch HD2.
- Maximizing the latest UI plus the simplicity wins me to keep supporting this ROM.
- Pre-installed lots of useful software.

2. TAEL ROM v3.28002 STANDARD Edition [21/09/2009]
- Yet another ROM from the same developer.
- Latest WM 6.5 build with the good old Manila 2.1.
- This is for those who wanted an even simply UI for their Touch Pro.
- Pre-installed lots of useful software as well.

3. EnergyROM - visit HERE to check it out.
- Another famous ROM developer.
- Fast update.
- Very fancy interface.
