QUOTE(Dead4Life @ Apr 25 2009, 12:37 PM) Yesterday, someone from Jobstreet called me regarding the position Java Developer in Experian. I said I was interested and they will forward my resume to Experian. When i checked inside the Jobstreet website, I found out Experian is having Walk in Interview on 25th Apr (which is today!). I'm not prepared for the walk in interview today because im busy with my work lately, and have other things to do this weekends. Is Experian still hiring after this for that position? I love programming but not very strong in J2EE (J2SE i can)...its just not my luck to go for today. Ruginyaa... Please help. No worry, we're still hiring!

I had go for the walk in interview yesterday , they provide a test for u , 20 objective questions with multiple choice and one correct answer only , i get the result 15/60 mark, it mean FAIL , i get shock when i saw the score because the question is not hard for me , i was request to have a look to the test paper which they already mark and i noticed that actually i hit more that 10 question is correct .
just wonder the formula to calculate the score, get the correct answer for more than 10 over 20 just give me 15 marks? really weird and special formula.
when i wish to ask that guy , he is answer me : dont ask me any question , i am HR ppl , dont know how actually they give the mark and technical thing........
Anyway this is good experiance for my first walk in interview , have fun ya

You got the questions correct doesn't mean you have provided the best answer. Because each of the answer may give you difference scores.

I am going to the interview. I was just wondering wat kind of java technology you guys are using. For example. Are you using struts or JSF. What kind of J2EE packages do you use. The more you can share with me technology wise the better.

I am glad that I met with him he was so down to earth yet so knowledgable that tells the company is really worth joining. I failed the paper also, but I will brush up my skills and read more about the related technical areas. Wish I can join them when they have new openings.

for me..different story.
managerial position. the VP that interviewed me ticked...that I will be hired. well, childish I would state, he wrote in front of my resume "To be hired".
he called the HR, but the HR went out for lunch...or something... so, the VP said, he'll have them call me in 2 days time to set the hiring... a week later after no news....said I was not shortlisted....
i was like..."what is happening?". VP says hire, and then now different story?... something worth pondering. I'm not sure if there are some "ganged-up" special recommendation this-that..people that got in via contacts....
shhessshh... I cannot believe if this happens. I emailed to the VP, but I should have known it would fall into deaf ears...VP is from US...nice man, and had a really good vision for the company, but alas...

Thanks.

It depends on what would you consider great working. The projects are tough indeed but we don't rush them like the usual small/medium companies do as we practice Agile methodologies (Scrum). So I can say that usually, 5.30pm is time to go home or chilling out at the recreation rooms. and yes, Experian Decision Analytics is a Software R&D centre.
