QUOTE SEGA handled Bayonetta PS3 port, not Platinum Games Bayonetta will make a PS3 and Xbox 360 playable appearance at this month's TGS, but Platinum Games explains why there might be differences between each versions. Some gamers have been worried over how the performance of the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta would turn out, especially following a limited showing of the game and a negative report from 1up.com The Xbox 360 version of Platinum Games' title had been the only build shown until GamesCom in Cologne, where the PS3 version demonstrated a slightly shaky framerate. However, the developer has been adamant that both titles would be nigh on identical by the time of their day and date release in the Spring of 2010. The developer's president and CEO, Tatsuya Minami, has now approached the question of the game's multiplatform development before its appearance at this year's Tokyo Games Show. "With Bayonetta, we created the Xbox 360 version of the game first, and then handed off all the data and other assets to SEGA so they could begin the process of porting Bayonetta to the PS3, giving them advice regarding the porting process along the way and overseeing the progress to ensure that the PS3 version would be the best it could be," Minami-san writes. "The goal was to release the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions to gamers day and date, and even though there have been trials and tribulations along the way, we are incredibly pleased to be able to present two playable versions of the game on the Tokyo Game Show floor." Minami-san then tries to calm the fears of PS3 gamers: "As the developers of Bayonetta, we have overseen both versions, and I would like to make one thing clear. The Xbox 360 and PS3, as hardware platforms, both have their own distinct differences and peculiarities, and these characteristics will naturally give birth to differences in the final product. "However, all involved endeavored to exploit the specific traits of each console to create an enjoyable experience. We feel the best way to evaluate this is by actually playing the game for yourself and coming to your own conclusions. "Bringing Bayonetta to users of both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 is something we feel to be very important, and I feel passionately that we have fulfilled our responsibility in that regard." SEGA has previously performed well on the PS3, with games including Valkyria Chronicles. We'll find out how good a job SEGA and Platinum Games did with the PS3 version of Bayonetta come its 2010 release. http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/games/b/bay...036;1328214.htm Honestly, things are looking more and more bleak for the PS3 version. Handled by SEGA means a couple of different things. Who are the guys from SEGA that is handling the game? Certainly not the ones familiar with the PS3 itself. We'll know in a couple of days time.
I don't want to play this game if it is so much more inferior than the 360 version. Which at this point however, sounds like it. Because it isn't funny not to show any official footage of the PS3 version until even near its release. And if 1UP reports are true on those framerate drops, means deal breaker. No buy. Anything can still change until the game is out on the streets though. Keeping my hopes up. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Sep 20 2009, 11:20 PM |

Added on September 24, 2009, 5:38 pm bayonetta tgs new trailer! NEW ENEMY , FULL OF GAMEPLAY AND FULL OF EPIC-NESS~ Added on September 24, 2009, 5:41 pm7680 yen = RM 290~300+ Added on September 24, 2009, 5:45 pm http://forums.platinumgames.com/showthread.php?t=473 "TOKYO - Bayonetta is a third-person action game that is best described as "flashy." The eponymous character is clad only in a catsuit made of her own hair and a pair of eyeglasses. As she punches, kicks, shoots and slashes the monsters around her, her hair transforms into larger and more outrageous implements of death, at the expense of her modesty. Bayonetta is coming to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and I played both versions on the Tokyo Game Show floor. The Xbox version looks a little brighter and more colorful, especially during the cinematic finishing moves that punctuate the boss battles. This has the effect of making these moments more eye-popping and seamlessly blended with the actual in-game combat, while the PS3 version cut scenes feel like you're watching a movie through a sepia filter. For a game with so much to look at, the camera in both versions is hard to handle. The default settings are not at all intuitive, but you can adjust them in the options menu. When Bayonetta runs too close to the edge of a scene, the camera can automatically focus on her and the wall instead of showing the enemies cornering her. Some of her larger hair-based attacks can also obscure the action. For some reason, I was not allowed to play the tutorial, so I had to figure out Bayonetta's elaborate move set on the fly. The game offers a sort of "practice mode" during the loading scenes, but at least here at TGS the game loads too quickly for this to be useful. The good news is that the moves are easy to pick up and the more elaborate attacks feel very rewarding. Shoving a winged beastie into an iron maiden and slamming it shut won't get old anytime soon. Bayonetta comes out October 29 in Japan and is slated for early 2010 in other countries This post has been edited by danger46: Sep 24 2009, 05:45 PM |

QUOTE After initial reports out of Japan that the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta does not appear to be on the same technical level as the Xbox 360 version -- suffering from frame rate hiccups, for example -- and an explanation from developer Platinum Games that Sega actually ported Bayonetta to the PlayStation 3, I was curious to ask the development team about that process at Tokyo Game Show. http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/699498/B...ion-At-TGS.htmlUnfortunately, I was not given that opportunity. Just before my interview, I was informed the Bayonetta team would not be discussing the PlayStation 3 version of the game. At all. The PlayStation 3 version should be on the show floor, however. I'll attempt to seek it out today and let you know how it stacks up. I've got nearly no more hope for the game already. |

So if the developer screw up their port of Bayonetta on PS3.... and most likely they will have poor sales on PS3 side when reviewer do the review....
aint tat a bigger lost than being an exclusive game? Since they waste more time on porting, they wasted more money on printing those BD disc and distributing them and end up no one want to grab them. Multiplatform aint good if the case is like above |

It isn't Platinum Games decision at all.aint tat a bigger lost than being an exclusive game? Multiplatform aint good if the case is like above Who's publishing the game? Sega. They're the one who has the last word. JAP alone would cover most of the losses. JAP peeps goes nuts when they hear anything associated with DMC. So go figure. |
