P.S: Finally got a stable driver for my 7900GS, an archived driver 163.75. But gonna try a few more stress tests especially overclocking my rig back to 2.8.

But yeah, it's been great to play with at least 5 on 5. It does feel almost like old times. To strife and curry (and tomato), confirm the scrims this weekend please. Thanks. I wonder if cheef kena whooped by his parents liao. P.S: To all working in KL, DAMN U! got holiday. This post has been edited by etsuko: Feb 2 2009, 10:42 AM |

QUOTE(maniakidd87 @ Feb 3 2009, 11:09 AM) @wateva, Eh, dun la turn this into a dog thread. Later got tomatos flying around. It just looks that way man.I swear the "encampment" that i put her in is big enough for her to run around and get some exercise.Also,people nowadays choose the bottle technique over the bowl as : 1)Its less messy when the dog laps up the water from the bottle compared to the bow(splashing) 2)Sicne its still a puppy,it's just better to let it get its drinking from a "simuated" tit. IF you know what i mean, picture a pup drinking milk from its mum. @hijacker a.k.a obbo, your pup's "small eye,big eye" pict is adorable |

Well, you still have to scold (raise ur voice) if it can't be helped. Sometimes it also depends on the breed - some are plain stubborn.
On a TF2 note, new update - no Scout pack yet. Here are the juicier details: Added class limit support to tournament mode Set the "tf_tournament_classlimit_X" convars to the max number of class X allowed Gameplay changes Modified critical hit calculation. Overall, critical hit chance is now much more recent-performance based: Base chance is now 2% (was 5%). Bonus range based on damage done changed from 0%-15% to 0%-10 Damage range required for bonus changed from 0-1600 to 0-800 Reduced random damage spread applied to all player damage from +-25% to +-10% Slight reduction (improvement) of the minigun's spread Increased flare direct hit damage from 20 to 30 Rewrote Natascha's slowdown code to be more consistent Sniper rifle now supports Crit Boost state like all other weapons (i.e. Kritzkrieg makes all shots critical hits) Stealthed spies are no longer able to pickup the intelligence. They must uncloak first. Increased soldier primary ammo count from 16 to 20 |

QUOTE(TehWateva @ Feb 4 2009, 10:23 PM) same here, same here. QUOTE(maniakidd87 @ Feb 4 2009, 11:35 PM) @tomatos, Hmm, at least it's sorted in peace. Yes sir,will not post offtopic stuff any longer. @strife Basically what he implied was that "this thread feeds upon itself". This is quoted directly as i still rmbr. He went on to say that scrimm players should desire more than just to be top ranking in a pub server and mentioned "guys in lyn++ shold know what im talking about". After that he listed 2 sites of gotfrag's site,one featuring a guide underlining what a casual player should do to become a scrimm player and a very useful link to many demos of clans worldwide. Including pandemic clan. He signed off by saying this place has turned into something like a jaguh RAM or sth. didnt make sense to me either As for the training/scrimm,i have no idea yet. Those TnT dudes apparently only have 1 dude who handles scrimms so i gotta ask him about it later.Lets say we dont have a scrimm,what event should we have next? Hmmm... how about having a simulation match where we get a min of 3 on 3 and test out various strategies? Well, I'd prefer to scrim. PUG also can though that'll be more to sharpen/trade skills with others - almost similar to what we did in the last Arena PUG. As for the 3 vs 3 (or more), it's doable but has to be very controlled. For example; if DB then we'll only concentrate on A or B or C, one-by-one. But yeah, scrim would be better. This post has been edited by etsuko: Feb 5 2009, 01:31 PM |

QUOTE(maniakidd87 @ Feb 4 2009, 01:06 PM) Anyways,i've found an awesome new video on youtube.It features a pro solly player called "FrozenShift". Its an 8 minute film showing the player playing in actual scrimms and pugs.(As stated by the webpage). Who do you think will win if frozenshift went up against say,pandemic's reptile? Watch the vid,and decide! My money will still be on Reptile. Uploaded by yours truly : http://www.mediafire.com/?t25bgyl4y1j File details: Video file type : .flv (This type of file can be played using Windows Media Player Classic,provided you have the proper codecs for it). If not,just google up "FLV Player" and dl the program.It shouldnt be too big. The reason why its .flv is because this video was downloaded directly off youtube. Download file type : .rar file. Make sure you have winrar. Video duration : 8 mins Oh yeah, in case anyone's wondering how to be better in mid-air shots. Download these maps and play. http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/66113 (rocket shooting 2 - i used to play a lot of this map LOL!) http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/64670 (air shot v0 - new for me but downloaded to try) Other maps you can play to improve your soldier understanding and rocket jumping: Rocketeer (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/48222) Rocketeer 2 (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/60578) Rocketeer is not easy and towards the end, i definitely needed noclip. ROFL! BTW, I should be in for TnT. And if I recall, cicak buys pasar malam headsets and still works alright. This post has been edited by etsuko: Feb 5 2009, 06:10 PM |

@curry:
The recent Steam update has affected framerates and still has. I found out about this when I tried googling a solution to my own problem. And, the framerate does drop especially when encountering pyros (flame on) and a large group of people all smack together. However, the extensive problems you're reporting may be showing signs of an aging hardware. And yes, my 7900GS driver problem was solved by reverting to a driver released in 2005/2006. The new ones are crap - I'm getting an ATI next time. Anyway, I'd suggest cleaning up the insides of the computer: 1. Vaccum. 2. Clean the heatsinks. 3. Dust off the fans and case. Or, I'd probably unplug hardware and test 1-by-1. Then, once I (maybe) identified the hardware, I'd swap it with a similar part from another computer then test. But yeah, tedious process when you can't really tell. @strife: Thanks for following up with them. |

QUOTE(Koross @ Feb 7 2009, 11:15 AM) Yo dudes just wondering if you guys felt any difference to the crits ingame after the latest update? I'd be against it as well. Because random crits are...random. Meaning it'll catch you off the blue and imagine having like 6 crits coming you at once from each player. Ouch.According to VALVE, they have changed how the crit system works as to make it less random and more towards rewarding skill instead. If you haven't checked an article on their blog that explains this in more detail, you can do so by clicking >HERE<. However, my last question is will this new crit system be usable for competitive play level? Will it be viable to turn crits back on for tournament play? Your thoughts ... So yeah, that's a no from me. QUOTE(ezinger @ Feb 7 2009, 01:12 PM) Thanks, zach. I'll PM them.QUOTE(maniakidd87 @ Feb 7 2009, 03:02 PM) Added on February 7, 2009, 5:58 pmScrimm update: Sorry guys,my bro and i wont be able to make it tonight.
