I'm actually looking for this game now.
Been wanting a really challenging RPG, last RPG which I played which had brutal difficulty was Odin Sphere.

This game had english version for months already....

I just got the game on Friday night, and only just now I decided to give it a try for a bit. Got pass the tutorial stage right up to the first boss, which is Vanguard. Died the first time, remade my character then fought him again.

Won pretty easily then, already found out his weakness. He's goddamn useless when you stand right next to him and running around him in circles taking cheap shots.

I thought this game is supposed to be hard?

Err.... I fought the Vanguard naked, as I know this game lesser armor means more speed. So I think it applies to any class anyways.
I am using Wanderer.

Well I'll continue playing to see how hard it becomes then.

Yea messages remain longer if more and more people rate it. For messages wth 0 rates however, it'll vanish in 6 hours.

That's what you get for not reading the messages on the floor at the beginning of the game. The dragon bridge is one of the easiest parts of the game.

Theres going to be quite a bit of changes in the US version.

First and foremost is of course the actual translation of the items/weapons descriptions, GUI, subs and what not. That's what Atlus is always famous for, top notch high-quality translations.

Lots of bugs fixes which would come as a patch for Jap and Asian versions as well.

Good thing is that they aren't touching the difficulty of the game at all.

Yes it's tough. Especially when you play it for the first time.
But when you learn how to Riposte properly, learn your enemies attacks, and know the place well... it becomes much easier. Of course, the difficulty changes from frustrating hard to challenging hard then, as it'll depend alot on your own skill as a gamer.

Put it in, get your ass kicked.
Then play like a real gamer that you are. Not some pansy who are so used to being pampered in so many other games.
This game, DOES NOT give a rat ass about you if you die. If you die, you die.


Wait if you want the top-notch translations.
That's the only major change.

Price at the moment most places are selling it new at RM180-RM190. I expect the Region 1 to be around RM200-RM220.

Oh my... the R1 version gets a Deluxe Edition which costs just slightly more than the normal version. Comes with a massive 150-page guidebook.

First, it's Atlus.
Second, US people waited damn long for the game. Eventhough they can import, but costs a bomb for them actually.

But you know Malaysia.... we can always get it, you know.

Atlus says they're not even going to touch the difficulty of the game one bit. Leaving it as hard and challenging as it is. Though there will be bug fixes.

I want to continue playing, but just couldn't find the time.

Bug fixes will be spread across both R3 and JAP versions.
So no worries there.

I'm just at the second world, after beating the Tower Knight only. Just don't have the time to continue, eventhough I want to really badly.

Theres denitely more, because the darn patch is 45mb.
Doesn't look like the world tendancy issues has been fixed though. I'm not too sure, anyone checked?

Yeap.
Unless Atlus changes their mind that is.

They are one of the publishers/developers that listens to fans very closely, so if enough request... perhaps they could switch it around like asking which server you want to join to when starting the game.

But R3 darn expensive new. Second-hand also almost no one selling.

US players should start out the same level as everyone else who bought the R1 game.

The game isn't for pussies.
It'd kick you in the nuts and ask you come again.

I wonder for people who are up above in the level 500s, it takes so much souls just to level up 1 stat (ya I know you can "cheat", but whats the point of playing a game like this then?). If they die and they somehow do not manage to get back to their soul, I wonder how'd they feel... definitely something to sobber about for the next few hours.

I can't imagine the amount of hours spent for the peeps who are at level 712.... without cheating that is.
