wah capacitor dead?

previously this problem has also plaque the Motherboard industry.. now mostly switched to OScon sanyo type or equivalent..

common problem now i guess for samsung lcds (not sure other brands) and the best part is that it normally happens after 1 year ++ ... hmmm

but there's a quick fix to this for ppl who's good with soldering...just need to replace all those bulging blow capacitors with new or better ones...maybe a cheap fix if DIY...

here's one link on how to fix

http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=190198

there's even another website that show the photos of all these nasty blown caps...talk about QC huh?

http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php...64418cff533431d

still too bad i suck at soldering sad.gif ...if not i guess it would be one cheap quick fix...jalan pasar sure sell these caps for cheap i guess

anyone who's good at soldering and could help me, do pm me... thumbup.gif

It is not Astro that does 16:9, its the content supplier, eg. Nat Geo, Discovery Channel, etc.

similar to anamorphic dvds? didn't know that's possible from astro...but if this is true, it is good news smile.gif

hi, would like ask u guyz opinion ..

i'm planning to buy an lcd tv, and with my budget of rm2000 i think i can only have 32 inch full hd , well i think its suit me enough

but currently i got offer 40" Samsung fullhd from someone with RM2000 as well,
so i think the offer is quite tempting, coz its 40" , but the warranty only got 3 months left, is it worth and reliable for me?

how much it will cost if need to repair when problem occur? any shop that can repair lcd tv?

btw it's Samsung 40" Full HD LA40A650
*
check with the shop where he bought whether can get extended warranty or smthing...

trust me...you'd be lucky if this set survives another year...LCD has very limited lifespan, unlike the good old CRT. Everything bows to luck bro. but if it go kaput...maybe u need to fork about a few hundred for repairs...

read somewhere here there's a samsung warehouse sale...maybe u wanna check that out first...coz surely u'd get longer warranty from sales like that

cheers

read somewhere tat lcd lifespan is only about 4 years max...coz not all the components they use in it is good. like plasma, even though the lamp may last longer, other components in it might just die prematurely...

sad but true.

i guess we'd all better go back to the bulky old crt...that one very reliable...tongue.gif

Nowadays, don't believe thing can last long as stated by manufacturer, my 37" Philips LCD died after slightly over 3 yrs and luckily it could not be repaired and I got some $$ back since I have 5 yrs warranty.

5 years warranty? nice. it must cost a bomb last time to pay for this extended warranty. but good investment there. i guess all these new technologies are meant for long run use...coz they just depreciate faster than everything else.
