IINM, the colors create optical illusion when the fields meet each other. It's not 'real' 3D though

QUOTE(fruitaleman @ Oct 3 2009, 01:06 PM) Alright, when I know which models to check out I'll get to test some BD on them =) A65, I never heard of.Ok Thanks! Btw whats the difference between A65, A66 and A77 models from sharp? A66 and A77 difference is aesthetics and A77 got 100Hz. 100Hz is useless, though, and the A77 doesn't call it 100Hz in the menu, so it is a little difficult to turn it off (I turned off every processing option anyway). If you're on a budget, get the A66. If you (somehow) have 100Hz video source, buy the A77. |

QUOTE(rhys86 @ Oct 3 2009, 06:40 PM) are the any sifus here can give me advice on Samsung LCD TVs? Sorry, I'm not sifu, but can give you a little bit of advise is it really that bad of quality and does it bring alot of problems?? Samsung got good PQ, as far as I can tell. But from personal experience (or rather, someone close to me experience), Samsung got bad build quality. The stand also very cheap one. When pressing button on the side, the TV rock back and forth |

If you use your TV for SD sources mainly (Astro, DVD, VCD, VCR) get Plasma.
If you play a lot of games, get LCD (I know IR not so common, but it is still around if play too long) |

QUOTE(SIWIS @ Oct 4 2009, 06:55 PM) Pana No.1 Plasma while Sharp No. 1 LCD Pana isn't number 1 Plasma argghhhh... SenQ SA tell me buy LCD better because LCD technology more advance than plasma. Correct? Sharp LCD 52A77 cost me RM8800 You forgot Pioneer Kuro Also, Sharp very berpengalaman in LCD, but I don't think they are the best anymore. Sure, Sharp is reliable, make panel in Japan, etc., but there are LCDs with better PQ these days |

QUOTE(fruitaleman @ Oct 4 2009, 08:51 PM) oo, which brand has better PQ than sharp? Cos I went n check out Aquos 42A66, most likely will be getting this one. Don't get me wrong, Sharp is awesome. But got better brand nowadays. I use A77, which is one step down from the highest one, and my PQ is definitely not as good as Sony's Bravia Z and X range (PQ itself is actually not as nice as W series from what I can tell, but W backlight sucks). Sharp PQ is great though, just not class-leading anymore However, even A77 not as mahal as those I just mentioned. If you looked, you can find better looking for sure, but with Sharp, you can sleep knowing that it won't kong next day |

LCD.
Cannot even clean with normal cloth, since it will get scratched But Plasma reflective surface can get annoying. Especially if got a source of light behind you |

QUOTE(robertngo @ Oct 5 2009, 10:15 PM) the PQ is the same just that the glare on the screen can be annoying at time if there is a lot of dark scene on the movie you are watching, if the scene is bright you will not notice it. Unfortunately, they haven't seemed to have gotten Kuro-ish quality yet anyway the quality of this plasma for SD stuff is very good, much better colour compare with LCD when displaying SD. Added on October 5, 2009, 10:16 pm Panasonic bought the plasma unit from Pioneer. |

QUOTE(yanhui95 @ Oct 5 2009, 10:32 PM) i don't know how Astro don't look very black because the source itself doesn't have good blacks. This is where the GiGo theory comes into play and Astro is unredeemable QUOTE(fruitaleman @ Oct 5 2009, 11:15 PM) Sony uses Samsung panel, but ultimately, there is more than just the panel that you use.The engine and stuff also are a determining factor in terms of PQ, etc. Also, Sony TVs tend to have rather good TV speakers (until you get HT, that is) Besides, salesman get higher commission from selling Samsung products due to Samsung having lower production costs (Korea govt. supports Samsung whole heartedly) QUOTE(TomatomanzSeedlezz @ Oct 5 2009, 11:29 PM) I heard someone said at first Sony's panels its by Samsung, then later by LG. Now Sony using Sharp panel, if I remember right Kinda funny that Sony (a huge company) didn't make their own lcd panel. I guess Sony its putting all their resources on their OLED TVs?.. Cheers |

QUOTE(KLX213 @ Oct 6 2009, 12:52 AM) I just got myself a sharp lcd 42A66M. Are you sure the 360 is set to output in HD res?since i only viewing it on dvd and astro in the electrical shop, i just found out it was terrible on Xbox360, even my LG plasma better than it. btw, im using a component cable only. or anything i should adjust to make it better ? Try checking the settings. Also, AFAIK the current Sharp line up will not take 1080p through component, so you might want to invest in a HDMI cable for your 360. |

QUOTE(myhat @ Oct 7 2009, 01:04 PM) hehehe How long do you want your TV to last you?for my range of income 3K is big investment dunno for others who got plenty of bucks in their wallet or account compared to me.... heheheh If you not going to upgrade for the next 5-10 years, but an LED TV. RM10k as a 10 year investment is a bargain. If you going to change TV like baby change diaper, buy a crap LCD first |
