Am looking for Plasma 42". Saw lots of good feedback on panny PV80H (RM3.2k). Anyone has any input on Hitachi E102A (RM3.5k) and LG PG60 (RM3.8k)?

Saw the Hitachi E102A, the picture output turns out not as'fat' as others.

Not to mention at bigger size too

Burn-in, sometimes also referred as permanent image retention, is an effect of an after-image appearing on your plasma or other phosphor-based screen after a still picture is displayed for an extended period of time. The most common type of burn-in is the result of watching 4:3 video with black bars on both sides on a 16:9 screen. Other examples of burn-in may include 2.35:1 movies watched on a 16:9 screen (black bars on top and bottom), non-transparent channel logos, fixed parts of the screen used, for example, for teletext or weather display, video and computer games, logos and menus, or even a paused DVD or DVD title menu.

I agree with the precaution on burn-in issue during the first 100 hours of plasma panel. I also agree that the burn-in issue has been tackled by the manufacturer (but may be not 100% yet), but its quite rare to hear such incident now. Even in the latest gen panny plamsa manula also stated about not to display long hour of static images.

what would worry me (and my be u) is the problem of image-retention. Through obserbation (and some reading), this is a temporary problem (if you didnt intentinally play long hour of static images). Most of the time i watch Astro (with their "every-channels-got-logo") and also those "letter-box" movies. What i noticed is, when u switch off the plasma, u can see there is some "unequall" blacks at the site of the logo. But it will disappear later on.
Browse around the net, there are plenty of playable DVd/BD iso file that supposed to "mature" these plasma cell evenly.
I' use Pixel Protector and "break in DVd, break in images, which i download from the net. The whole idea was to illuminates the whole cell with same colour/intensity so that the gases "burn/spark" evently..

I had tried with X10 and PS3. Result not good compare to LCD. Not sure about S10 though. For console or PC, I think LCD will be better due to the color is more vibrant.
