Depends on your eyes also.
For me if I sit more than 7 feet away from a 42" screen.
I can't differential between HD ready and Full HD with the same source.

They are refering Panasonic Plasma.
If it is Full HD LCD TV that you want to buy, then stick with Sharp, Samsung or Sony. |

QUOTE(kaneshi @ Jun 2 2009, 12:47 PM) Any reason why plasma tv is still favorable compared to LCD tv? I tot LCD is better than plasma, excepts its "non-true black" in LCD. It has been mentioned many many time here, it is all depends on your source.Movies, Astro use Plasma cause of better black level, more natural color Games, Animations use LCD cause of better sharpness and more 3D effect. |

If I use my TV for movie I will definately choose Plasma, no question ask.
But my usage is like 70% PS3 gaming and 30% blu-ray movie. So far I don't see anyone who says good thing about plasma give any comment how plasma peform in gaming. So I am still deciding whether to get Panasonic TH-P42S10K or Sharp LC42A77M |

IF you are not so much into the home theater and want one. No HD audio though.
I think it is a good deal. This post has been edited by Reix: Jul 9 2009, 03:01 PM |

I think you won't spot any difference in 42" panel from that distance, unless you have very sharp eyes.

Even you buy LCD, Plasma now, it will not guarantee you can receive those digital boardcast in the future.
Just add an external digital tuner when the time come. This post has been edited by Reix: Aug 31 2009, 08:47 PM |

Learned something new yesterday.
All this while, I thought Astro broadcast in 4:3, didn't know they do 16:9 now. Has it been upgrade? or only on certain channels? Went to a coffee shop last night, they have a 29" CRT and 42" Plasma showing the same channel, 333. To my surprise, the picture in the Plasma didn't get stretch in horizontal, in fact it shows more contents on both sides compare to 4:3. |
