fantastic goal by scholes ... volley is never easy ...

thats why when Mclaren still is England boss he keeps pursuade him to come out from retirement ...

btw, the third goal by Rooney, that assist should be a shot from Park tongue.gif ... but luckily Rooney is there to tap in ... never easy also ... timing and positioning matter a lot ...

Its good that Fulham is a "game lowering cnut" laugh.gif not like West Ham.

You can see it in the first half. I bet that during half time SAF meet up with Roy and tell him to ask Fulham's players to buck up or Rafa will suspect someting laugh.gif laugh.gif

It's all a conspiracy I'll tell you tongue.gif .

Rare praise as Wenger labels M.Utd "untouchable"

QUOTE
Paul Scholes rolled back the years with a vintage display against Fulham, but one thing will never change about the long-serving midfielder – his reluctance to step into the limelight.

Scholes ran the show in United's 3-0 win over the Cottagers and opened the scoring with a sumptuous volley direct from a Michael Carrick corner that was reminiscent of his effort against Bradford in 2000.

But when asked by MUTV to compare the strike with some of his previous wonder goals for the Reds, Scholes was typically understated.

"I don’t think it was one of my better ones," he said. "It was a great ball from Michael to find me and I caught it quite well. The keeper will probably be a little disappointed he didn’t save it but I was happy it spun into the net.

"Over the years I have always contributed goals but in the last couple of seasons that hasn’t been the case, as I have been playing slightly deeper. Hopefully that’s the start of a few more to come."

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson added: "It was a fabulous hit. Every day in training, he usually tries to hit me!  laugh.gif  Some of his switches of play tonight were absolutely magnificent."

Against Fulham it was Scholes who starred; in the last couple of weeks it has been Ryan Giggs. And Ferguson was fulsome in his praise of the veteran duo.

"They’re great examples to young players in how they’ve lived their lives," he said. "They keep their ambition, which is so important, and we’re delighted by their performance. We’re so proud to have them here."

If Van der Sar can keep Blackburn at bay for 89 minutes at Old Trafford on Saturday, he will eclipse the European record of Club Brugge stalwart Dany Verlinden, who went 1,390 without conceding a goal in 1990.

QUOTE
Wayne Rooney marked his comeback from over five weeks out with a hamstring injury by returning as a substitute on the hour mark.

The striker made an immediate impact by scoring United's third goal and Ferguson believes the club have taken the right approach in not rushing Rooney back.

Ferguson added: "We didn't take any risks with Wayne. He had a little bit of a setback about 10 days ago and felt a bit of tightness in his hamstring.

"At this stage of the season we cannot take any risks, we have to make sure he's 100 per cent.

"I could have played him on Sunday, but I thought we'd wait a few days and we'd get the dividends of that.

"He will play on Saturday (against Blackburn) and then we'll assess whether he's ready for Tuesday (against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League)."

QUOTE
Carlos Tevez says he will not know whether he is staying at Manchester United until the summer.

The Argentina international is only contracted to United until the end of the season, after he arrived at Old Trafford on an initial two-year loan upon leaving West Ham.

United have an agreement in place to pay around £30million to a third-party for his services, but have failed to rubber-stamp this arrangement as yet.

Tevez is now left waiting to know whether he will remain at United, although he has repeatedly stated this is his intention in the past.

"I have the head start in Manchester and my idea is to stay here for a few more years," Tevez revealed in an interview with Radio del Plata.

"It would be very difficult to have to leave one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I spoke with the president of the club, but nothing is signed yet.

"We are now waiting until June and we will see what happens."

My feelings is that RooTev will start this Saturday.

Berba will start against Inter and SAF will decide his partner.

On 27 January 2009, Van der Sar helped Manchester United set a new club and Premier League record for consecutive clean sheets – the club's 5–0 win over West Bromwich Albion meant that they had gone 11 games (1,032 minutes) without conceding a goal, beating the previous record of 10 matches (1,025 minutes) set by Petr Čech in the 2004–05 season. On 31 January 2009, following a 1-0 win over Everton, Van der Sar overtook Reading's Steve Death, who set the previous English club record of 1,103 minutes in 1979.[10] On 8 February 2009, Van der Sar extended the record to 1,212 minutes, after the 1-0 defeat of West Ham, beating the British club record previously held by Chris Woods of 1,196 minutes.[11] To break the world record set by Abel Resino of 1,275 minutes, he needs to keep a clean sheet for a further 64 minutes.[12]

Very happy Man Utd is doing so well. Keep it up guys.

I'm abit confuse how come previously it stated Abel Resino is the world record holder? hmm.gif

Now we got another piece of info stating Geraldo Mazarópi (Brazil) of Vasco da Gama is the world record holder.

hmm.gif hmm.gif
