This kit was allota fun - I think i'll get the Rei one too. Its my first anime garage kit aswell.

@ edan1979 - yup I used a sparmax DH-115 to airbrush it. @ Byaku-chan - It took about 2 & a half weeks from building/preparation to painting. @ Dishwasher - When I got it from e2046, it came with the decal sheet. But the eyes were not decals, I spent sometime whilst the kit was on pre-order practicing on surfaces trying to paint anime eyes & eye lashes. turned out good in the end. yay This post has been edited by Shugi: Jan 29 2009, 09:46 PM |

^Nice comparison, looks like it's cheaper to preorder locally than to import from abroad. I ordered from P-A at first, then decided to cancel it and place an order with Dreamz Toy in Sunway Pyramid since it's cheaper and close to where I live (thanks franstormer!).

huhu i just recieve my parcel today
got 2 of this  this 1 open up got 8 BOX of gasphon PVC  here so far i open up 1  more closer look of it  it looks nice and detail and able to put with my VF25F here so far i open up. Klan Klan  jacket version of shery nome   got ranka lee  and her little masco  alto  |

If you're displaying Ignis, you should realize she has a leaning issue. I overcome this by not inserting her left leg into the peg in the mirror baseand Valho simply doesn't display his.

I finished my Asuka 1/6 cosplaying as Yoko but I don't have a proper display base for her yet

Huhu actually to ease your spending for figures, you can just focus on collecting certain series, from certain manufacturer only (though this can cost you more if the one you wanted become limited edition
). For example, my priority for buying figures is always Queens Blade series manufactured by Megahouse (and occasionally, AlphaxOmega) |

As for why people would want realistic faces for anime characters, well, aside from personal preference as BeastX pointed out - I think a lot of anime fans ironically don't realise realism and anime are not mutually exclusive. There's a spectrum of realism in anime/manga art - there's the Cardcaptor Sakura/Kanon stuff which is as far removed from realistic proportions as possible, there are classics like Ghost in the Shell which attempt a fusion of both, and there's stuff like Vagabond where the art is pretty much realistic. As for Yoko, the original kit looks better IMO, now I wish Max Fac hadn't altered the face now that I've seen the face from a frontal angle. |

you have to remember that shipping is not just calculated based on the figure weight, you have to take into consideration the shipping box weight as well. From the pic it seems Octavia comes in the bigger box that can usually put 2 figure, so u have to add around another 700g to the total weight. If you follow the chart here, at 1.4kg the EMS rate is 2.4k yen.
So no HS didnt overcharge you and I don't think you would want to them ship your figure in those thin PA boxes right |

Haha if they use a smaller box its probably gonna be a very tight fit and the figure box will be more easily damage which is something they will always try to avoid. even my death sensei figure came in a bigger box. They are not like PA that will use box that just fit the figure nicely without any buffer on the side and very easily damage. |

I finally bought an epoxy glue a few days ago, and tried to fix the broken peg problem. I let the thing cure for 2 whole days, and just tried plugging the fig onto the stand again... and it BROKE again ;_; I guess it's hopeless. |

I have a few leaning/broken peg figures with inserted metal internal support... prefer aluminum light and strong and easy to shape with tools... There is always epoxy filler that hardens to stone/cement/concrete like.

There's a spectrum of realism in anime/manga art - there's the Cardcaptor Sakura/Kanon stuff which is as far removed from realistic proportions as possible, there are classics like Ghost in the Shell which attempt a fusion of both, and there's stuff like Vagabond where the art is pretty much realistic. I bought my 2nd gen PS2 (ver 1.50) with that point card and Bic Camera was the place i bought my 300k yen laptop. bought the docking station with the 10% acquired points point system really makes u want to buy more... |
