oh really? why is that? this is something new. mind to explain thoroughly?

I have not looked into the technology. My guess is that, when the optical zoom is set to 4.5X, the illuminated area of the image sensor is reduced. So, the software only allows you to use such optical zoom when you reduce the image size.

Just my guess.

Argiope, I think it's quite a good deal since a 4GB SDHC is slightly less than RM50. Well, you can checkout the forumer "iamsobloodysick" about his deal. I bought from him.

Hmm.. I think high aperture allows less light to impact on the CCD as well as a deep depth of field. Is bokeh equal to shallow depth of field?

what's the meaning of those +4 ? +3?
*
It's the magnification factor. The higher the number, the image scale will be larger. I don't really know how does it work in terms of math.

Not a pro, but i think generally it shld b sturday, not too light and has a detachable hotshoe.
Got mine together with cam, it was selling for 25 at pcfair, Keep brand with a shoulder strap casing.
*
Congratulations on your new finest purchase! Hehe..

In a more professional way, the tripod should be sturdy, i.e. able to hold the camera weight and damp the vibration as fast as possible. Is there any tripod with non-removable tripod head (the hot-shoe the above mentioned)?

Hi LX3 users, I'm a total noob in photography. I read about this LX3 has a wide angle lens, does that mean it can take wide angle photos like those dslr? And because of this feature, is that why the optical zoom is sacrificed? 2.5x only.
Really love wide angle pictures.

Either considering this or the TZ7. Argh.
*
Any focal length shorter or equal to 28mm is considered wide-angle. Our LX3 has a shortest focal length of 24mm. The optical zoom is sacrificed to keep the aperture at largest at F2.0 to F2.8 according to Panasonic.

Bro, mind to show us the CPL effect? I am interested to know if the difference of the price makes a great difference in terms of quality.

Regarding the cleaning, I use the microfiber cloth and the Purosol Optical cleaning solution (Both by PO) to remove the fingerprint. If it's just the dust, then use solely the blower. The rule is the same for all optical elements, do not clean it if there is no necessity or you will mess it up. Just like what I did with my telescope. cry.gif

Thanks warlock. I have one more request. Could you show us the effect of the CPL before and after by shooting the surface of a lake or water? The main point here is to see if the CPL is effective enough to show the reflection of the sky and other scenery.

Sometimes really dont know whether Im suck with camera or CPL also got its limitation. Did the glass reflection shot and I still see my reflection but is reduced.

For lake shot...

Which do you prefer? I would say CPL works with light. It does filter out those a cast over the photo just like UV filter, only that it does it better. Still, it cant totally get rid of reflection.
*
Yes, try to rotate the CPL filter. It works best when the angle between CPL and incident light is 90 degree.
