pic 1: nice bokeh.. but kinda bad composition.. coz i couldnt figure out which is ur subject.. (the cropped bottom left / or at oof middle / or right part)
pic 2: a bit underexposed? was u trying to take silhouette pic??

i sharpen a lil..and some contrast and pump up some vibrancy...

kedaifoto will do. but for fast i use acdsee pro.

pic 2: use small aperture (high f-stop) so landscape scene will be sharper. a bit underexposed (coz of the bright sky). WB not attractive enough. Haha..a bit senget dowh...(i oso have the aligning prob)

pic 5: do know which is ur subject coz out of focus.

kinda hard to do before 7pm as many members here are working..try organizing one on the weekend

I like the colors. Was just point and shoot.




First impression of the lens is that the size is just nice in my hands ( i have big hands). The problem that i find with it is the location of the zoom. It's too small and located right at the back of the lens. It'll take awhile to get used to it.

I hope this lens won't have it's gear stripped. International says this lens comes with 2 year warranty. I actually wanted to buy from Boeing, but when i reach there, they tell me no stock, have to wait till 2 oclock. Good thing i din wait and instead drove to Pertama Complex (first time going there and almost got lost). Boeing price is RM 1650 and with only 1 year warranty. Hopefully this lens won't have its gear stripped. Fingers crossed.

chiggy: I'd say you should bring it in. On my Vivitar 24mm F2.0, initially, one of the spring hooks became 'straight' so it no longer has enough tension to pull the aperture lever shut. I superglued the spring's lining so it became tight! Of course, mine had TWO springs instead of one so I'm not sure how yours is designed.

The camera repair shops have LOADS of replacement springs.

If the lever on the left is what I think it is, moving it should directly control the aperture. I am not sure where the M42 aperture pin interfaces with this.

raist86: Don't say we didn't warn you. Anyway the moment you encounter any doubtful focusing, you should pack your kit lens the next day. Try to take note if it happens in colder temperatures.

Don't get the Minolta 50mm f1.7. Save up more for the f1.4

signither: Cost me RM3xx for my Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4 EX (bought second-hand from YL Camera, sent to YL Camera to fix.) Before this also it was unable to focus closer than 1 meter so I also had to pay that much to fix it.

oh mai.. that really makes me think twice before buying Sigma lens for a long term
