FD1 or FD2? If FD1 do check on the power steering system which is recently recalled. Normally if hydraulic power steering, the sound is more like aeroplane humming noise...

Even FD2 not affected by the recall but from your description of the sound while turning, high chances of power steering problem too.

The steering hose recall only for those from 2006-2008 only-lah.
