QUOTE(ozak @ Apr 6 2010, 09:36 AM) As Neo-Y said, the 17" is a low profile tyre too. The bigger the rim and the thinnest the wall tyre will produce louder noise. And the widther of the tyre contact to road surface too. Many thing got to learn right? Some ppl just dont understand that simple logic . Hahaha . There is another way also. Change the rim to 16" or 15" and remain the same tyre diameter. The width of the tyre will reduce if the tyre inch reduce. This will increase the wall thickness and smaller rim. That will reduce the noise too. But minus the glamour and the reduce the beauty of the civic. Added on April 6, 2010, 9:39 am That is 8th gen. face lift or no face lift. Try put the civic trye and the rim on the city. The noise is still there. And try put the city tyre and the rim to your civic. See the noise will reduce or not. You will know the answer. =.= City noise insulation better than the civic .. Mweh. I was driving 160 on the new city . The noise is like my sound system at home when im playing gran turismo 5. LOL. ultra noisy. |

QUOTE(RedsInHell @ Apr 6 2010, 06:12 PM) hmm, my sis city was 2007 ( WQF ) release, not the latest one. I personally own a City (WQA) and no, I dont really think its that quiet. It is a lot better than civic ( sound/ noisy ) i don't know how's the Q on new city, so i prefer not to talk about it If you are cruising at < 100 all the time, i guess its quiet. I will drive my civic and tell u how much difference there is. I am suppose to collect the car tomorrow since the tinting and etc have finally been done by my sa. |

QUOTE(dannysao @ Apr 12 2010, 11:27 AM) unfortunately they did not improve on sound proofing, now wonder when i test drive toyota, they guy keep selling the sound proof of toyota..but civic sound proof really lousy, not only civic, i drove accord in US, I really cannot tolerate the tyres sound, but the handling is much more better then camry.. I just took delivery of my civic, I can tell u the low profile tyres are definitely worth the noise. Hahhaa, handling is a dream . well its adequate for now, until i upgrade the tyres to something abit better. |

QUOTE(ozak @ May 11 2010, 10:17 AM) =D I LOVE VTEC !Its just so enjoyable, to see the numbers climb from 120 to 150 on the bright blue display. its so ... addictive ... Hehehhehe Added on May 11, 2010, 4:18 pm QUOTE(lighter @ May 11 2010, 04:09 PM) Damn.. i got my new Civic 2.0S 2 weeks back. SA sent my car for tinting and I collect my car in Ecotint Hartamas tinting shop. After few days I realized whenever I wash my car or got into rain, everytime I wind down and wind up my car windows inner part were wet! Hrmmm, 3 of the windows having this problem. I went to Honda SC for my first service and complain about this. They claimed that it was caused by the tinting shop. So after car service I straight away drive my car to Ecotint Hartamas, they said its because of the rubber not good enough. Ask me send back to SC. Then one of the Ecotint sales girl said wait for my manager got her new Civic then we will show whether her new car got this problem or not. What the hell man even you show me or not I don't care I just want to solve the current problem! So I called up my SA ask him to settle for me. He said he will discuss with Honda CS's manager and get back to me. WTH! Even my old Proton Wira also never have this kind of problem. Somemore this Civic can buy 6 of my old Wira. Anyone can enlight me what to do? Just wait? Wait until when? P/S: Never send your car to Ecotint Hartamas. They tinting skill sux! I tinted Ray Barrier, after few days got my new car my rear window part of the tinting film came out, roughly about 1 feet large. I sent it back to the shop and they touch up for me but still alot of bubbles. I ask them to replace new one for me. They said can but we won't guarantee if we damage your heater. ZZzzzZZZZZ............ Added on May 11, 2010, 4:15 pm Mine about 9KM/L too.. I drive 40% highway and 60% city. My sa did my tinting for me as well, VKOOL Elite. Seems alright to me. After rain, everything looks okay. Even did my Sierra Glow already, really awesome stuff. When my shiny black car kena Bird shit or tree sap, a bit of water and a tissue paper and you can just wipe it off. This post has been edited by omnimech: May 11 2010, 04:18 PM |

QUOTE(lighter @ May 11 2010, 08:08 PM) OK guyz. Now confirm is Honda issue. Ecotint on the spot tested spray light water to new Honda CRV, Honda Accord, Honda Civic & Honda City car windows. After wind down n up the car window all of them inner part of the windows were wet! Theirs just slightly wet. Mine is worst. BS. I wind my windows down and up during rain also still just the outside is wet, the inside is never wet. Those who just got your car try it out and let me know are you having the same issue or not please... I collected my Civic 2010 FL exactly a month back ... Unless my car is some super version. THey are bsing you my friend. Added on May 12, 2010, 10:14 amCould it be those new honda cars have been tinted by them already ? Why dont you ask them to try a non tinted car . Mine was done by Vkool, I honestly have yet to see this problem happen, and neither has this problem been reported in other civic forums, at least i have never seen stuff like that. QUOTE(lighter @ May 12 2010, 10:21 PM) Please read other people's post also. I think the tinting ppl are trying to bs you. What makes your civic so special ? If you want you can come my house and spray my car all you want, then open the window. Im positive the inside of the window will be dry. Tested this yesterday after heavy downpour. Now your only choice is to go back to Honda to fix it and for all you know they will charge you citing, not our fault, you did tinting. LOl. |

QUOTE(invisiblelim @ May 13 2010, 12:48 PM) erm.. no 1 answer my question geh?? my concern is.. if my company touches the Civic Wiring, will it void the warranty ? or.. i must only install the Honda Authorized GPS provider?? =.= I spoke to Honda ysterday regarding new alarms. THe only one that they "support" is Cobra. Any wires that look out of place after installation of other 3rd Party alarms will void the warranty. My sa was telling me that someone who messed around with the wiring after installing a new 3rd party alarm, had to pay 3k for honda techs to look at the problem and resolve it >_< |

QUOTE(invisiblelim @ May 13 2010, 03:26 PM) wah.... that means.. no other choice but install cobra ar? =.=" which means whenever we touched the wiring, then will void warranty if touch wood in future got problem la.. =.=" exactly, you could maybe talk to your sa to see if he can work something out. I was complaining to my sa about our civic security not being good enough. he said the best now is to install lock tech (the brake lock) and probably use a steering lock. Both of those combined should deter thieves from targeting your car. Like i said, just a deterrence, if someone really wanted your car, you will be screwed anyway. So many civic around without those kinda prevention, they rather go for those, than waste time on our rides. hahaha. Sad to say lar, but i would rather they go steal someone else's car rather than steal mine |

QUOTE(invisiblelim @ May 13 2010, 03:45 PM) only brake lock & steering lock, i dont think is user friendly and able to prevent much.. ok la.. if Alarm cannot, then i have to use the GPS tracking only.. since it only tap 3 wires.. >.<" i think should be ok gua >.<" erm.. if i wanna change BM Horn lerh? it void warranty as well? the thing is no matter how much protection u put, if somoene really wants to steal it, no problem. HahahaIf i could, id put a sign, ada gps tracker, bang, tolong jangan curi bottom line, its more to luck Putting steering lock, thief can immediately see, would be harder to steal cause u need to cut the lock, so thief will shy away from it. At least I hope it would |
