Man, this civic are geting more expensive. I wonder is it still worth to buy.

1.8 already going to rm120k. By the time new civic cameout, maybe the price will be over rm120k. That is 2.0 price!

I would seriously consider KIA forte 2.0. With an extra cash to mod the car.
*
If it is really the 1.8S-L, then it is not really increase in price because the standard 1.8S is still available at RM114,980.00. The 1.8S-L will be more expensive because it has certain 2.0S trimmings added. Current 2.0 price is at RM130,980.00 so the 1.8S-L is still RM10K cheaper.

Sometimes cannot blame Honda, the demand is there so they can afford to increase the price and ppl will still buy. But I believe there is a limit cos if the 1.8S is priced too close to Lancer, then I think ppl rather go for Lancer. The other competitor in this range would be the Peugeot 308 turbo but because of it's affiliation with Naza, I think ppl are a bit weary. Peugeot is a good car but too bad it is brought in under Naza.

Nope... Price still estimation 119,980 OTR

I'm really curious on what they plan to offer for the 1.8S-L. I really hope they include cruise control. Love that feature esp traveling outstation.

It is their right to increase. But from what I see, they taking the advantage to make more profit from the hot selling car. How many time they have increase the price just for this gen civic. Everytime just add in some accessory and demand some increase. But the quality didn't improve. The quality is not good as previous gen civic.

Are the HM going to hurt their next new gen civic car by such fast price increasing? Would they reduce the price for new gen civic? I don't think so.

The other car maker fast catching up with more attractive price. The design and technology is getting better too.
*
I agree with you. Funny...I see some similarity here, do you?

Is HM headed the P1 direction in terms of taking advantage? HM is taking advantage of hot selling car whereas P1 is taking advantage of protection.

Sigh...I would like to own an FD one day but I am saddened by the way HM is overpricing their cars. Somemore it is CKD. If it is CBU, I understand la. Just hope that HM will not shoot themselves in the foot.

Hi sifus,

Is it worth to wait for 1.8S-L which cost RM5k more or take current 1.8s straight away?
*
Hi speedguy, how come you can find ready stock ah? Which dealer you went to? I placed my booking for the S-L version the other day, the SA told me normal 1.8 have to wait till October. ohmy.gif

No.. Mine is not 1.8S-L but just normal version.
*
I know, but you got it straight away? How long you wait? When I book my S-L that day, the SA told me 1.8S (normal) no stock until October.

Which dealer you went? Got ready stock meh?

1.8 S-L as mentioned before is same concept like Accord 2.0 VTi-L... As for the 1.8 S-L:

Side Mirror Signal
Leather Upholstery
Metallic Side Meter Panel
Chrome Door Handle
Cruise Control
Steering Audio Control
*
Is it officially announced in Honda Site? I cannot find the info. I only knew this by word of mouth from the SA.

saw the S-L version yesterday nite n confirm buying...today soft lauching for those who wants to view it.....
i feel overall, more impressive than 1.8S...at least giv u a more superior feeling...
the interior colour (dashboard compartment / Y pillar / side doors) is oso diff...darker brown (think like hybrid interior colour)..
leather seats are in black (which is great!! coz SA prev told me is dark brown - like hybrid which i feel sucx)

other add-on as per discussed....just hope they could add in the paddle-shift!! haha..
*
Yea, I viewed it yesterday evening too. I like the interior colour. Actually bro iobai, the interior is not hybrid colour. It is civic 2.0 colour. Leather seats are dark blue and interior is two tone dark blue and grey.

Too bad no paddle shift but ok la...got autocruise i'm happy. Love using autocruise when travelling out-station. I will be getting one too.. smile.gif

QUOTE(gregy @ Jul 21 2010, 04:37 AM)
Last time when I bought my City in 2004 from Mofaz in TTDI, my SA was really helpful. But the same can't be said about his colleague. It so happened on that day my phone battery was weak and I needed to charge my phone to make some important calls, too bad my SA was using a diff brand phone so he asked this sour-faced colleague to lend me his charger. The joker lent it to me, but at the same time felt the need to lecture me that I should always keep my phone charged la, battery die faster so what, calls more important bla bla. Actually on that day I traded in my car to Mofaz, and my in-car charger was with me but my new car was still not at the showroom yet, that's why I couldn't charge my phone smile.gif

Just goes to show, sometimes all these sales reps care about is making a sale, if you're not their customer don't expect them to treat you well. No long term vision, you never know if one day he/she may become your customer, who knows? Apart from my own SA and the Mofaz branch manager, I really regret having to bump into any of the other SAs, especially that shorty "lecturer" with the shoulder-length hair who looks like an Asian Barry Manilow lol.

Apart from that lousy episode, the service guys at Mofaz are quite friendly and will take the time to explain what's wrong with your car. Even my own SA, a few yrs later when I called up to ask some questions about servicing he got me the right info.  I'd definitely buy from there again if my next car is another Honda.
*
Just to add on, generally from my experience so far, I feel that Honda has the best PR/Service around. I have been to T and Peu but they seem to be too stuck up. I have been to Honda Tenaga Setia (222) and Sumber Auto (Seksyen 13) and both showrooms offered very good service.

I placed my pre-launch booking with Sumber Auto for a 1.8S-L (T White). My SA said I should get the car next month but I might be pushing back delivery to September. My SA is Ms. Lemon Yap - good service. thumbup.gif

I'm deciding to get a urban titanium or sparkle grey for my 1.8S-L.

Can you someone give their opinion on which one to take and why?
*
Colour is very much your own choice. Urban Titanium is a new colour which might be a "one-hit-wonder" as with the bronze or gold colour before. If it is, then it might be difficult to sell your car next time unless the new owner wanna fork out extra cash to repaint. As for sparkle grey, it's still a popular colour as it is carried on since the earlier models, so that proves it is in demand.

So it all depends on what you want. Like me, I chose T.White for my 1.8S-L cos I feel white makes the car look more solid (no pun intended) and sporty, for example.

New Honda civic coming on next year? Any1 know when it will launch? Cause I wan to buy civic but don't know want to buy now or wait for the new model.pls help thanks.
*
I'm sure nobody knows for sure except for the top guns in Honda Japan. If you are not in a hurry, then wait and compare but rumours are that it will only be launched late 2011/ early 2012. I think Honda will at least give the current facelift another year before phasing it out.

May I know what you mean by "is something like English forum"? You mean to say Malays and Indians won't understand English? Or just the "something like English" used in your forum that only Chinese can understand?
*
Chill la bro....I think what he means is that probably majority of the members are Chinese so typically there will be times when Malays and Indian might feel hard to fit in. For e.g. if I go into a forum which is mainly Malays and they use mainly BM, I sometimes also find it hard to keep up especially if they use short form or slang like xpe for "tak ape" or x blh for "tak boleh".

Don't think he means to sound racist.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Found some new spyshots of the 9th Gen Civic

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/09/03/spy-sho...-two-tier-dash/

Looks kinda similar to the current generation. If this is true, then there should be no regrets buying the 8th gen now. rclxms.gif
