QUOTE(ar188 @ Jan 31 2009, 01:44 PM) yeah lor hands itchy to get 1.5TB drive mah.. what is your Seagate warranty period? thanks(this one only used to keep redundant unimportant files like TV series in a USB case, not powered up daily, maybe once a week or twice a month. haha) today I have to go back there to buy two more WD 1TB.. |

I see. Thanks for the info. I went to All IT to get 500gb, also the same expired date.
Er, I think it apply to all Barracuda to 3 years after 3 January 2009. Try to search for Product Warranty Matrix. You will see Enterprise range is still 5 years. |

QUOTE(Vanquish @ Feb 7 2009, 09:22 PM) Wait, how do I know that my HDDs are affected according to the serial numbers? I've used the "Drive Detect" software to check, but I don't see anything that tells me that my HDDs are affected... check this https://apps1.seagate.com/rms_af_srl_chk/rm...check_index.jspAll I get is this: Model: ST3500320AS, Serial: 9QMXXXXX, Firmware: SD15, Attached: Yes Model: ST3500320AS, Serial: 9QMXXXXX, Firmware: SD15, Attached: Yes So, which part of the info above tells me that my HDD is affected? I got one drive that is affected, but I updated the none affected drive, |

QUOTE(lovelies @ Feb 27 2009, 05:24 PM) what are the steps tat i need to take to RMA the drive? what the checklist? they will send back the info based on what you registered in your website.register my warranty on seagate website, perform return on the website, select the place to return, use the correct packaging, then? need any signature? after i send the drive to them, how they gonna send the repaired drive to me? using the order number or wat?...... and, im at sarawak....i decided to send to selangor there, when i gonna get the repaired one back? and can i replace the drive with the higher capacity drive? or they just replace with the same model? doesnt it need to let the seagate to verify if the drive need replacement before sending it to them? i mean...i just create the return order and then post the drive to them without having them to verify the drive beforehand? (get what i mean or not??) on website, can you check whether there is a pickup services? |
