Whats the deal about 3G?
What can we actually do/function with 3G?
Who actually needs 3G?

Browse internet, we can do it at home/office.
Need to get messages like email? already have sms.
Need news? got newspaper & tv.

Is 3G alternative to Streamyx?
What about cost? Steamyx 512Mb = RM66+25phonerental

Please explain to me. Tks.
*
I already answered in another thread.

It is not 512Mb la. doh.gif It is 512kbps. sweat.gif

I am not an IT person, that why I am asking in forum.
Also, my english is not that good, so don't spell-check my words.

Your answer is you don't use for browsing on phone, but as alternative for Streamyx/Hifi.
Maybe more knowledgeable forumer will contribute some valuable info, to encourage 3G use.
*
I said it is not 512Mb, it is 512kbps. I don't think there is any provider in the world that provides 512Mb. If you can't take up mistakes, what else can we do?

Yes, that is most of us are waiting for. We use it as modem to use it as broadband.
Head to Getting Broadband section to understand more. There are Celcom, Maxis, U-Mobile and DiGi EDGE thread over there.

p/s: Jeez. I'm not an IT person either.

QUOTE(lkylyk @ Feb 9 2009, 07:50 PM)
i wonder is there any number that can call to check balance, similar to Hotlink (call 122 to check balance, change language, etc) for DiGi prepaid users? hmm.gif
*
The free hotline: 016-2211800
Or simply key in *126# for balance enquiry or *128# to access to the DiGi service menu.

The best option is to register an account via OCS, you can amend almost everything there and chat online with the customer officer. smile.gif

since Japanese phones can't support these shortcut code services, i have to use call method to check my balance... sweat.gif  doh.gif
so this 016-2211800 is similar to Hotlink 122 which answered by automated machine then? hmm.gif
*
Erm, at first it is automated machine to tell you your balance. If you wish to speak to the customer officer, then just follow the further instruction. smile.gif

I am always calling my supplementary line so with the unlimited free calls/SMS/MMS, I now only use about RM10 every month in which the other RM40 goes to waste since I'm on the DG50 plan. sweat.gif
*
Good luck to you. laugh.gif
You better try finding ways to make use of the credit. tongue.gif

That day when I switch to Ambassador Plan at Digi i asked can I get a new sim car, they say sure and just gave me a 128k sim smile.gif
*
Very lucky of you. I didn't opt to switch SIM card when switched to Ambassador Plan plus I don't think Malacca DiGi Centre has 128K SIM card. tongue.gif

What is the fuss about using 128k card anyway???
What's the difference betw 64 and 128k?????
*
In order to use 3G, you need a 128K SIM card.
Since DiGi will launch its 3G next month, so everyone is rushing to change their SIM card to 128K to use its 3G service. smile.gif
