for server sure can utilize all cores since Microsoft launch the Win Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V...
now days microsoft is pointing out the usage of virtual machine and thats where hyper-v comes in...
now user can use windows, and all other microsoft software directly thru the server without installing it on the user PC itself... my office is using one (testing) and u can set the CPU core for each virtual machine... more cores more faster the virtual machine is...

Yup for enterprise i can see the usage ah, for consumers at home a 6~8 cores rig is a bit overkill kot for now.. sweat.gif
But good point though.. smile.gif Maybe a home with many pc could do away with their many pc and just use a single server with many virtual stations ah.. drool.gif

can... but the its said that the performance will be less about 2-5% compare to a user PC with all the apps and windows installed at the PC itself... summore the license is still per user.. not per machine which to me, sux... the costing for the hardware and software onli lowered a few percent onli...

the PC that was use for demo was a custom PC with AMD phenom and 4GB ram and another one with intel c2d and 4 gb ram also...
