i've updated my firmware to the latest version, as discussed here, wayfinder still shown as 7

yesterday i just tried the GPS function to get my location, and everything is fine until today. I was surprised that Navigator no longer works! Using explorer to find in Application folder, the Wayfinder 7 is gone!!!

i didn't know how could it disappear.. is that possible to reinstall without reset the phone?

thx!

meaning even if we get from firmware, we could only used it for 90 days?! after that the apps would not launch? or just cannot do routing?

about the WIFI issue, yesterday went to the BBQ Chicken at seri hatamas, full bar and the speed was about 100kbps, which takes less than 10 seconds to download a 1MB content..

so looks like this phone's wifi capability is okay at those places with a good AP

This is my 2nd time updating. the first time worked perfectly.

The reason why im updating again is because I have problems with the wifi after updating. It got stucked at 99% then I force closed it before disconnecting the usb cable. Then it can be switched on.

Now u make me worried to try again :|
we seem to lepak in the same places - jayaone, hartamas, lol

Will try out the wifi at places with good wireless then

hehe in fact that 2 places are not my normal hangout place, just happened to have some works nearby smile.gif

anyway its a relief now that C905 wifi performance is alright thumbup.gif

guys, when doing a firmware upgrade, whats the best way to keep your existing stuffs like
- contact pictures
- specific ringtones
- network settings

for nokia, there's a full backup tools which we can use to restore everything back to the phone after the firmware update.. hows the case for SE?

I think SE PC Suite not as good as Nokia PC Suite. Even the firmware update on the Nokia Update Application is more simplier than SE's.

You can use the SE PC Suite to backup and restore the contacts, calendar, notes, etc. But I don't remember getting the contact pictures when restoring my phone after update.

You can use the phone to backup/restore the contacts to/from the M2.

Network settings have to get back from the provider. Speed dials, contact pictures, etc all gone sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

PS - Did you get the wayfinder folder? I was busy with work.

That's the mafan that we have to go though when upgrading SE phones. For nokia or even my old Dell axim, upgrading firmware is nothing easier than just run the patch and then restore EVERYTHING (of course not 100%).

Just being lazy having to set those things like speed dial, voice dial etc.. sian2

I was trying to install the Wayfinder into the phone memory (to solve the Navigation shortcut not functioning issue).

When the jar file was launched from memory card, it is automatically saved into M2. Then I tried to move the jar file to phonememory, and remove M2, then try to install, the system complained that "not enough space"! In fact when I checked the phone memory size, it still has about 99MB?!

can anyone try this out?

if you've been following up the C905 thread, you can see that C905 produced before 08 week 52 have the speaker problems, this applies to both AP and Ori

for my case, I bought the later batch of C905 AP, and so far everything is working great... so again, Ori and AP don't really differ in terms of quality

Finally found the ITC-60 TVOut cable at Sony Centre @Ikano Power Centre, quite surprised to see that though (after ordering at SonyStyle for a month with no replies)

Tested it with the media player on a 40" Bravia, quality good even though output via the yellow s-video (not component cable, sighz)

Anyone interested can check with the staff there.

anyone knows where in kl to repair the earpiece issue?

from what I found on google, it can be easily fixed by using a jumper (bypass) wire connecting pod 21 and 22 on the circuit board to the earpiece.

but problem is we need a real technician who is good at the micro soldering
