QUOTE(jess7 @ Jan 25 2018, 11:16 PM) recently finished Hannibal Lecter series by Thomas Harris and The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. The Hannibal series is also on my to-read list. How did you find Harris' writing style? Heavy and needs some digesting, or would you put it as light reading - can't think of a better example but Harry Potter and Dan Brown's novels would be in this category, in which I can easily blaze through the whole book and immerse in the story.Hannibal series is crazy read, just too good and too short, in my opinion. I would love for it to go on and on and on about Lecter but I guess that would take the fun out of him. Kingkiller series, to me, was great at first, but then became quite draggy. I’m reading The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande.
Was recommended by someone in my online book group and I thought it was gonna be a ‘how to organise your tasks’ type of book but there are anecdotes of the author’s own experience to the importance of the checklist. He’s a practicing surgeon and discovered that simple task gets overlooked because of the urgency of the situation in midst of the bustle of other patients and colleagues. |

Edit: 2 July - reading the last book now. Brings back so much memories of childhood when I actually pre-ordered this book and joined the early morning queue for the pre-release! This post has been edited by MysticShadow: Jul 2 2020, 10:53 PM |

Took a break from physical book to read the Solo Leveling web novel cos I couldn’t wait for the manga chapters. I finally finished reading all the novel chapters (few nights sacrificed few hours sleep) xD
Now reading The Selfish Pig’s Guide to Caring by Hugh Marriot - yea, applicable to a change in my current life |

Can't Hurt Me - David Goggins
Heard his story on a podcast and was really fascinated with his backstory. |
