i used to love stephen king's books, he certainly has a style of his own. but in the end i just found other writers that suited my taste more lol. but still, he's got a nice huge variety of novels. some were good. some not really : /

i only read 1 book of his, which is "Needful Things" - interesting, the show doesn't do justice to it.

i think more M'sians watched movie adaptations of his books than his book itself, heck most people wouldn't know it's from him.

how many people actually took note of the - Based On or Adapted From credits during movie intro?

I've read The Stand, It, Needful Things, The Green Mile, From a Buick 8, and Different Seasons (from which the story Shawshank Redemption was taken) and maybe a book or two I can't recall.

King is definitely a good writer, but his tendency to drone on and on about minor things puts me off his books. Still, he can write a heck of a chilling tale. 'It' was pure horror at its best, and I remember my 15 year old self being so scared I couldn't sleep at night. Even better though was the novella 'The Body'. A simple story about a few friends heading to see a dead body was, at it premise, nothing to be afraid about, but King managed to built up such a frightful atmosphere in the story... It wasn't the gore type horror, but rather psychological horror, and that is the scariest kind of horror if you ask me.

I've been meaning to pick up his Dark Tower series, but can't seem to get down to it.

Anyone knows where can I get hold of IT?

Can't find it in any of the big book chains? You could place a special order at Borders, MPH or Kinokuniya you know. Book will arrive in a week or two, no extra charges IIRC. Then just pick it up at the branch you ordered it from.

Meh. I tried ordering from toobad. He's a book supplier, and he said IT is no longer reprinted. So I don't know whether do they still print IT or not.

The big bookstores like MPH, Borders and Popular don't have IT. >.<

And I can't find the movie also. Sigh.

The book story itself is more interesting than the movie.

I was at Midvalley today, and like you said, there wasn't a single copy if It to be found. You last resort: Amazon.

my readings on Stephen King's novels would be Pet Cemetary and Dreamcatcher...

loved his books.... can really feel the horror eventhough by just reading... as for IT, seen it on the movie... that's the scariest clown movie i've seen.... gives me nightmares for ages... huhuhuhu...
