im not sure about DualShock 3...cuz i dont own a Ps3...but i feel that the xboxwireless controller is kinda heavy but gives it a solid look...and i like the way they set the RT button for shooting for most shooting games...cuz its like a Gun Trigger

I thought the xbox and now the 360 have the best controllers, but the D-Pad is rubbish. The times in GoW when it failed to switch weapons, usually from grenades to a gun were numerous and frustrating.
The xbox D-Pad was fine, surely they could have used the same one. Apart from that and the loss of wireless when the battery gets below 50%, sometimes you have to turn it back on even though it has two bars. It is so far the best controller I have used... |

DS3 R2/L2 buttons...lame, wonder why they not kept the dualshock2 design?
but still better than the prototype, that 'Batarang' controller |

hate the L2/R2 buttons for DS3... overall the 360 controller is much much better especially for FPS game but the dpad is crap. Guess we can't have a perfect controller anyway.

QUOTE(wilsonjay @ Jan 18 2009, 04:17 PM) do you mean durable or reliable? to me xbox360 controller is solid, but i have to say the D-pad sucks. As for DS3, the R2/L2 button is kinda awkward. Its like you broke the button or something coz it doesn't a have support on its back. I still think the DS2 was good but they need to make it bigger now that I've gotten use to 360 controller. |

I can adapt Xbox's wireless controller and PS3 DS3 controller anytime. But i prefer Xbox's controller cause its bigger and looks more solid than PS3's, because PS3's DS3 is light and looks like a plastic toy.

I like both of them. The S controller and the bulky controller. It's big and solid, we can have a firm grip. The new PS3's DS3 feels like a cheap controller because of it's light weight .

Traditional controller wise, Saturn is the best for me, GameCube Wavebird also very nice, but not good for 2D / 3D fighting games, SNK VS Capcom and Soul Calibuor are almost unplayable on Wavebird. It's a joySTICK , if you know what I mean. Indeed it is a toy, but feels like it's poorly engineered
I like the DC controlled actually, that's why I love the xbox controller in fact. |

Dont you guys think Dualshock 2 is better than Dualshock 3? If only the Dualshock 2 is wireless. Dualshock 2 feels more solid and heavier than a DS3.

I vote X360 even tho' the D-pad sux. To overcome the D-pad problem, I hv to buy Saitek P3200 (for PC and X360) from PA. This controller is just perfect for fighting games, this is what X360 controller should be!.
Other alternative is Saitek Cyborg (better). |

Yeah you are right. MMORPG or RPGs, are barely playable on any consoles, especially the XBOX360s and PS3. Look at how C&C fails badly on those consoles. Its just hard to control. Keyboard and mouse is a must for those games.

I havent been able to update myself with latest pc games. My personal computer is not up to specifications to render next gen games. Thats why i couldnt be bothered to play pc games since i was small. The last pc game that i have bought was FIFA95 :(

For fighting, i dont think controllers is a good option. HORI sticks are always better in arcade fighting games such as Tekken or Street Fighter series.

Games like street fighter is better off using those HORI sticks seriously. You need them to perform super combos, like 15hit combo KO.

I'm a PS fanboy and already get used to PS controllers. I do think that Sony should change the controller design. It's been the same since PS1!!
I thought that with the new PS3 they would change the fact that DS2 is worthless and breaks easily, but then they still stick to the same old design and came out with sixaxis DS3. Maybe they're saving cost by using same old molds. uhuuhu. Most of the ppl here are voting for 360 controllers. Is there 360 lookalike controllers for PS3? Hehehe.. Noobie here.. No such thing as the best, cause it depends on your personal use, and what do you own. So, just learn how to use them, and you'll get used to it in no time.
But for me, i would say the xbox's controller is more comfortable and firm to hold, which is a plus, but a DS3 is not bad either, because it is light in terms of mass. So they have their own advantage and disadvantage that we have to get used to. |

i feel that xbox360 wireless controller punye D-pad is too sensitive, coz all 4 directions stick together as one piece of plastic, very easy to mispress the direction when navigating the dashboard
PS3 controller not bad, I like it since PS1 era |

![]() j/k. Personally depend on what I'm playing. If CRPG or other type of games, usually DS/DS2 (if on computer, with appropriate USB converter). For most Wii games, Wiimote + Nunchuk. If VC games, Wiimote + Classic Controller If Internet Channel, Wiimote+cheap wireless USB keyboard This post has been edited by RAMChYLD: Apr 9 2009, 03:41 AM |

i would really prefer the biological controller where human brain controls the game via some special input to the console via captured brain waves. imagine playing Tekkan by thinking the moves.. or play silent hill via virtual reality method. Or to be more extreme, your conscious is being transfered to the console aka (Matrix) and a game is loaded and you play in it. would love to play Silent Hill via that method. Watever emotions will be transfer to your physical body.. *wet in the pants * |

That concept is rather futuristic. It couldnt be pulled off in this era, cause more research needs to be done, not only on the physical side of the game, but first scientist needs to study human emotions, and how to apply it in virtual reality.

IMO the Dualshock 3 controller feels very toy-like, and their trigger buttons leave a LOT to be desired. The Xbox 360 controller is much better if you ask me..heheh. But then again, my favorite favorite controller is not even on the list! That would be the Sega Dreamcast controller. Anyone remembers that?

for me, its depend with the games. For action games, xbox360 is the best.. for fighting games, DS3 is the best.. I have tried same games with both consoles, that's what I feel right now..

I vote for xbox360 controller. I like the left analog stick. Really comfortable to play racing games compared to DS3. |

QUOTE(Lakum @ Apr 23 2009, 12:44 AM) I meant the analog stick for controlling the steering. The trigger is also nice. due to this, I bought a steering wheel for the PS3 instead of xbox360. currently no budget to get steering wheel for both consoles. |

If not...u can use it for both of ur console rite?due to this, I bought a steering wheel for the PS3 instead of xbox360. currently no budget to get steering wheel for both consoles. |

i played playstation for along time but once i tried the xbox controller at my cousins house, i got hooked. that controller's analog sticks i placed perfectly which allows smoother movement which is great for fps games. u know where my vote went.

so, i guess it depends on the game you play, aye?
360's controller is best used for FPS and the likes of it... I've tried to play Killzone 2 at my friends house, and I get owNEd by the game due to my "tak-biasalah-analog-stick-kat-sini!" thingamajie.. heheehh... |
