xbox 360 vga cable is the best! no need to crack open anything!
my monitor dvi attached to pc graphic card
vga connect to xbox 360

then u need to buy a 3.5mm to 2 RCA female output (i bought from Sunway Pyramid IT shop for RM25)

plug the 3.5mm into the blue color slot behind the PC
under sound control, Options > Properties > Recording
select "Line In"

connect the xbox 360 vga component audio into the 2 RCA female

start xbox 360 (here u will hear xbox 360 sound but the monitor still haven't change to xbox screen),

change ur monitor setting from digital to analog (those buttons on ur monitor)

DONE!

P.S. When u turn off ur xbox 360 it will auto switch back to your PC
