It's not enough. Coatings will never give high levels of shine. It's all about protection. If it can give shine like what I've done to my car as I've posted in another detailing thread, then I'm sold. Otherwise, if I can't add more shine, then there is no point.
*
I've enquired about something like this whilst I was in Singapore, the salesman told me it'll last 1 to 1.5yrs depending on the environment.
Price about the same, 4 x of this thing is enough to repaint the whole car. The level of shine from what I can see is that they are the same as
before. What I mean is that it's like what you've said, all about protection, best sent in when you first receive your new car and start from there.

If you must have the best shine, stay with wax. This stuff is tempting to me tho, cos I'm getting lazier to wax my car.
I just wonder if the 3 yrs warranty covers maintainence as well and to what extent the protection deteriorates before we can
ask for re-application. sweat.gif

Just done PPS on my ride. Very good experience with Shine n Shield. Raymond, the boss, attended to me and his staff took very good care of the car. Very satisfied with the result. Thought of posting a pic of the car (as other pics posted here are usually ASM or PMM....so here's a DLB for a change).

This pic is taken after polishing with Leveling Compound. It removes all contaminants plus minor swirl marks and scratches off before the actual PPS application. Already looked pretty good compared to when I collected it from the showroom. Didn't have time to take more pics. Going to let the coat cure for 2 more days before taking final 'After' pic.

Hi guys, did my PPS with interior last Saturday. Too bad was raining for past 2 days. Now hopefully today is bright sunshine out there so i can 'dry' my PPS better. It's true Raymond said discount until end this month. No worries if you have not got your car. Just call drop by and pay small booking to enjoy this benefit. Oh ya...PPS plus interior on Saturday will take you long long time to complete. I recommend you book TGV Pyramid 2 movies to kill time. Don't worry cos Raymond will fetch you there and send you back to his workshop. At his place got Astro (but no Wah Lai Toi), tons of car magazines and oh ya Raymond will make you any drinks you like. It took me 8hours to complete my car, of course with other cars in the workshop (Merc E class, few Honda Accords and NHCs)

I've read feedback from owners who had it back in 2005, they still say it is good till now. But I am sure the results vary from case to case depend how u maintain/take care of your car.

Hey bro, for a comprehensive read on the PPS subject, please read Page 1 of this thread then head along to the URL below. That's the shop which offers this service.
Shine n Shield

Easy tips (not exhaustive)
1. Once a week is good.
2. Don't wash under a hot blazing sun, cool weather (overcast is better).
3. Rinse ur car first with water to loosen the dirt.
4. Use at least 2 clothes, 1 for the top, front, back and side of the car..1 more for the bottom.. like under the door and near the fog lamps, exhaust
5. Dry your car after washing.

Interested in this as well, as I very lazy to wax car regularly. If can just normal wash then is great for me. Seems most people who go for this are NHC owners...

Hey. If you're interested in getting the Modulo kit, there are a couple of HC3's (me included) thinking of doing a Group Purchase.
The price is going to be approximately RM1800 (we are trying to get a group discount too). The material is also ABS, which is supposedly
the original material in the Original Modulo kit. It also has the Modulo badge and if I'm not mistaken the rubber lining.

There isn't a distinctive difference. Most likely it'll look as good as the original one. A fellow HC3er (ccpau) put on an 'aftermarket'
Modulo kit and it looks just like the original, except it's cheaper smile.gif Let us know anyway, we are planning on early-April

PPS teflon is a dupont invented chemical that can resist high temperature,
chemical that is non-wet and non stick material and is also very slippery in
its nature. It is used to manufacture non stick cooking wares and is a must
content in a lot of the industrial products that need to withstand a high
temperature and chemicals. Once it is bonded to the paint by way of +-
method at ambience temperature it will protect paint from damage by the uv
and all other enviromental hazards for years. A copy of the outstanding
properties of teflon obtained from dupont website is attached for your
reference.

Whereas, Glassplexin I understand is formulated from glass, a compound that
is contain in all the polishing compounds. The compound is not slippery and
smooth and the reason why they have to apply an additional layer of, probably
wax, after the treatment to give the smoothness on the paint and make it
water repelling and since wax does not last it has to be re-wax every 1 - 2
months as mentioned in its product write-up (see underlined in red) a copy
of which is attached for your reference.
