Hi people, I have finished my CAT last year and currently doing ACCA paper F4 F5 F6. Recently my college told me that some of my friends and I have been selected to pursue the ICAEW program, to work part time with BDO, Deloitte or one more audit firm (Folkes, or something that sounded like that)

Since we have finished CAT, we will be exempted from some ICAEW papers, just to do the remaining 10 papers in 5 years, what do you guys have to say?

How hard is ICAEW compared to ACCA? Working as audit is already hell, now to study ICAEW and to become auditor. Any of you already working in the audit firms and would like to share how your colleagues who are doing ICAEW doing? How much more does an employer value an ICAEW graduate compared to ACCA?

Many thanks smile.gif

honestly, for me. i don't care. from the firm's point of view, it doesn't matter which qualification, so long as u are qualified, and if we can bond you for 5 years, even better, at least we get workforce security for at least 3 years, no matter how suffering the staff may be.

Act, I am an ACCA student too. Currently doing F7, F8 & F9. For the past few weeks, I came across to read about this ICAEW Qualification too. biggrin.gif

I noticed that after the completion of ACCA Fundamental Level, can gain exemption up to 8/9 papers, left only about 6 papers.

I ask my lecturer about this and she told me that ICAEW is much tougher as compared to ACCA. The requirements are more demanding. It is more on case study especially when u progress to the Advanced Stage.

At the same time, it requires students to gain working experience as well as study for the exam. That's y the students must be matured enough to handle the qualification.

As a result, I can conclude that ICAEW is much tougher as compared to ACCA as the exam r more difficult and the students must gain practical experience at the same time. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
