here is my score with my spec in my sig

Does the amount of RAM counts ? I only have 2GB for now since the other 2GB decided to die.

this my pc

intel pentium D 915 2.8 ghz but overclock to 3.24 ghz ( still waitting change processor)
3 gb ddr2
nvdia geforce 6600gt

3.0 only... was 4.8 in Vista SP1...

My hard disk for some reason, is at the lowest 3.0. That's really odd.

The hard disk score is way lower than the one in Vista (5.3).

Odd. My HDD score is 0.1 higher than Vista. ;x

my laptop, spec in my siggy...

Goto Device Manager->Disk drives->Your HDD, right click and select Properties, choose the Policies tab, then TICK the first "Enable Write Caching...." tickbox, UNTICK the second tickbox (I forget what is that, was using another XP PC now). Doing this increase my HDD score from 3.0 to 4.8

That option is already ticked when the test is conducted.

why it's look like the score much higher than vista?

Same case here. Write-caching or something is also enabled when the test was done.

simple, vista max score is 5.9, 7's is 7.9, it just increased the score limit...in vista i got all except cpu at max score

i got 3.0, primary harddisk hold me back..confuse alredy.. u all got so high

what factor that effect to have such low score in primary harddisk?

i use sata seagate 160gb.. or the disk size they rate it?

I think they rate disk size lo... cause mine using seagate 120GB IDE also got 5.2 mark wo...

i believe ur hdd is near the end of it, is it old hdd? cause my old wd give me around 5.4 only...n its not so fit according to SMART diagnose...i mean its over 4yrs dy, so i dnt expect it to be top notch...n both of my disk is NCQ enabled, u need to enable AHCI in bios b4 u install windows, if u installed windows, u need to use regedit to let windows load the driver during boot so it dont crash ur os. follow here to enable if u enable ahci post os install here

1 thing tho, for real life usage, u better refer to real life benchmark, WEI dont represent ur pc's real world performance

should be nice, but shouldnt be slower than my old wd cz my old hdd has almost the same spec but barracuda should be faster, did u enable sata native mode in bios? ahci support can ignore as it dont give much benefit. my hdd have 16mb cache tho not 32mb

good, check ur bios carefully, it should be in native mode...i just afraid after u activate it now after os installation might crash...if it does, revert it back to previos setting, i'll post a solution...

i cant find it.. native ide got la.. just try to change to AHCI, fail to boot

i mentioned earlier about ahci dy!...u if u enable it post os install...u need to change registry to tell windows load ahci driver instead of usual 1, link is in my previous post...what is ur board? sata should have native mode unless ur board dnt support sata2.0

currently dis is my score b4 OC with my 4870 downclock to 500/450, & also without my 640gb WD...........

yeah..i agree.. there are bugs in this windows.. my hdd score was very loww.. i remember that my lowest score is 5.0 in past vista.. but not hdd score.. a bit higher than 5..

after setup everything, drivers all installed ive got lower score now.

Those who are having very low score for HDD in Windows 7, follow this method to get higher score.

To increase your Windows 7 Beta HDD WEI score (in many systems):

1. Control panel>hardware & sound>device manager
2. Under disk drives, find your main drive
3. Right click your main drive and select properties
4. Policies tab, uncheck the "enable write caching on this device"
5. Click ok, and re-run your WEI

Dun forget to check back "the enable write caching on this device"

If your HDD is 7200 RPM, probably can get 5.9. Oops, I keep thinking this is Vista.

I do plan on upgrading my HDD to a 320GB 7200RPM. Wonder what my score would be. I just wished I could upgrade my GPU. Then it would be awesome!

I'd recommend a 500GB 7200 RPM SATAII HDD. Don't forget the noise created by 7200RPM.

why not Raptor HDD the speed is 15K rpm lol...

Just realized that my "Gaming graphics" and "Graphics" score dropped from 7.9 to 5.9 after upgrading to build 7057.

And I wish that they've got 15k RPM HDDs for laptops for end-users (consumers) like you and I? Read the fu*king previous posts property ler.
